Hello. I went to the gym this morning with my family. I tried out the machine that makes you pull up the weights. I dunno what it's called. Anyways, I got until 200 kg, then my arms started hurting, so I stopped. There was some scary guy there lifting 250 kg again and again.

We went to some coffee shop near West Mall, then we dropped off my mother at Bukit Merah NTUC and then we went back home. I got motivated all of a sudden to complete my half fixed Gundam, but I didn't finish it in the end. The thing is so complicated that you have to fix 9 tiny pieces to form one of its fingers. Screw it, I'll finish it some other day.

I slacked for a while, then my family went to AMK Hub. I went to Funz Centre with my father and brother. The place was freakin crowded. Anyways, I got Guitar Hero World Tour, and Naruto: Broken Bond was out as well, so I bought it too. Now all that's left this year is Mirror's Edge and Prince of Persia, and Oblivion if I have extra money.

I got back home at ate my dinner, then I fixed up the Guitar Hero instruments. Then I tested them out. Drums worked fine thankfully. Guitar was alright too. It too me quite a while to figure out that you have to turn on a controller first before the microphone can be used. I thought the mic was spoilt at first. So every instrument I got is fine.

I played the game. Drums take a bit getting used to, because you have to cross your hands to play, unlike the Rock Band drums. The guitar is awesome. The strum bar is perfect, and the whammy bar is longer and easier to use. There's also a new touch sensitive slider bar to help noobs who cannot hammer on and pull off.

I think the slider bar isn't necessary, because since you can't see it, and you can't properly feel the different notes, it only makes you miss. Singing is fun, because you can talk crap into the mic and your voice comes out of the TV with a echo effect.

Overall, the instruments are good, but then again, they are made by Red Octane, so the quality is expected.

I didn't play Career mode, so I only could play with the songs that were already unlocked. I played guitar, my brother and sister took turns playing drums and bass, and my brother was also singing while playing his instrument.

I played a lot of "Beat it" and "What I've Done", but the songs are so easy for the guitar even on Expert mode that I got bored really fast. The slider bar is gay it makes playing the solo parts so easy that it isn't even challenging.

I also tried out Naruto: Broken Bond, and it's basically Naruto: Rise of a Ninja with improvements, but it's not a bad thing since Rise of a Ninja was awesome. It's nice that the replaced the clips from the anime with actual cutscenes. The anime clips are standard definition, but the cutscenes are crafted from the game's beautiful graphics engine.

Here are pictures of all the stuff:

Big boxLately, I've gotten into the habit of buying 2 games at a time.
New plastic guitar
Longer whammy bar, conveniently placed Starpower button, perfect strum bar. I love this guitar.
The 5 buttons on the right are the standard buttons, and the five on the left are the slider buttons. It's bigger than I expected. You're not going to find a more realistic plastic drum kit. The way its cymbals are located forces you to cross your hands while playing, just like a real drum.
The bass pedal is good, better than the flimsy Rock Band one. Having played both the World Tour and the Rock Band drum kits, I can tell you that this one feels more sturdy. The microphone looks nice. If only it could work just as nicely.

So now you guys can come over to my house to jam with plastic instruments. It's going to be fun. Ok, I'm off to read One Piece. Ending off, see you tomorrow.

Hello. Today is a day to celebrate. Why? We'll get to that soon. I woke up early and went to the temple with my family, then we went to Casuarina Curry House for breakfast, and we also saw some monkeys along the road outside Pierce Reservoir. After breakfast, I went to cut my hair.

We then went to Little India to order some food for our relatives, who will be coming to my house on December 3rd for my grandfather's prayers. My mother then went to the Tekka Market temporary site to get us lunch.

While we waited in the car, I persuaded my father to get us Guitar Hero World Tour, and after a while he agreed to do so. That's a reason to celebrate, but it's not the reason why I said that today is a day to celebrate. Anyways, I'll be buying World Tour tomorrow, and I'll get Naruto: Broken Bond as well if it is out.

I came back home and I finally got a new razor blade from my father. Not a new shaver, just the blade tip. I took a shower, then I helped my father clean the house a bit. I put all my Zoids and Gundam up in my cupboard, and I dumped all my old magazines and stuff.

After I helped him dump the things, I played Fable 2. I recruited the Hero of Skill and I completed the game. I got 300 Good points at the end, because I chose Sacrifice, and now I've got a halo floating above my head. I also got 175 Achievement points for doing that. I you were wondering why today is a day to celebrate, I'll give you some hints.

I've always been saying that I'm closer and closer to 10 000 Achievement points. I had 9825 points yesterday. Today I got 175 points. If you are slow or something, and you've still haven't guessed, I will show you why today is a day to celebrate:

Yay congrats to me. I deserve to have an Achievement unlocked for making it past the big 10K. I know there are people freaks on Xbox Live with 6 digit Gamerscores, and my Gamerscore is insignificant to theirs, but getting past 10 000 is a pretty big deal to me.

Anyways, to celebrate, we're ordering pizza for dinner. Or maybe we're ordering KFC. I dunno, my parents are still deciding. Oh alright, it's KFC. Ok, now my goal is to hit 20 000 Achievement points.

Some news for you:
-GTA IV expansion "The Lost and Damned" will be sold at US$20, or S$33, which is 1600 Microsoft Points.
-Destroy All Humans!: Path of the Furon will still be available on the PS3, but only in Europe, so you can import it if you want to.
-Gears of War 2 patch fixes slow matchmaking. About damn time Epic did something about it.
-Assassin's Creed 2 might be set during the French Revolution, several hundred years after the original game.
-F.E.A.R 2 gets banned in Australia. They really need to pull their rating system together or else their going to miss out on every good game.
-Call of Duty: World at War Double XP weekend...for people with Collectors Edition of the game only. Also, since the game doesn't have a CE on the PS3, PS3 owners are not eligible.
-Fallout 3 downloadable content will be about the same size and scope of the "Knights of the Nine" downloadble content for Elder Scrolls IV: Oblivion.
-Walmart employee killed in Black Friday stampede. What the ****.
-New, improved version of the Xbox 360, code named "Jesper" is rumoured to be in the works.
-PC version of GTA IV will have 32 player multiplayer, twice the amount on the consoles.

Ok, as usual, I'm off to read One Piece. It's freaking addictive, I cannot stop reading. Tomorrow, there will be pictures of Guitar Hero World Tour, and videos of both Guitar Hero World Tour and Naruto: Broken Bond [if Broken Bond is out]. Ok, ending off, see you tomorrow.

Hello. I woke up quite late today because I was up until 3am early this morning watching Tropic Thunder. It's a nice movie that's genuinely funny, and while the story is ridiculous, it makes the movie even more entertaining to watch. There are some parts of the movie when the cheese factor gets really high, but there are some cool parts as well.

There's this part when the antagonist, a prepubescent kid, realises that Kirk Lazarus [played by Robert Downey Jr] isn't really a farmer. Kirk had dressed up as a local farmer so that they could rescue another character. He is wearing a large hat, and a scarf conceals most of his face. He covers his body with a coat.

So the kid demands to know where his farm is. Of course Kirk doesn't know. The kid becomes hostile and he draws his weapon. He demands to know where Kirk's farm is. "Where is my farm? Where is my farm? Here's my mutha****ing farm!" Kirk says as he pulls out two machine guns, which were hidden under his coat. He fires at the enemy and his friends captures them. Kirk then says "I'm a lead farmer mutha******." Sweet.

It's a good film, but I am still disturbed by the scene where Tugg Speedman [played by Ben Stiller] is continuously stabbed by a baby that's grabbing onto his back. The disturbing part is that as the baby stabs Tugg, it is still smiling and laughing. Creepy stuff.

After I woke up I played Fable 2 for 4 hours. The game is really getting awesome. My hero enters a place called the Spire to rescue the Hero of Will, but he has to wait 10 years before the Hero gets his powers back. Once he does get his powers back, both of us fought our way out of the spire. Seeing two high level mages beating the shit out of guards with visually impressive spells is a good experience. Right now I'm recruiting the Hero of Skill.

One piece of advice for anyone who hasn't entered the Spire yet. Before you enter the Spire you will beet a man at Westcliff who asks you to invest $5000 so that he can rebuild the town. Don't be stingy. Give the man his money. 10 years later, after you finally exit the Spire, he will send you a letter. When you go and meet him, not only has Westcliff become a bustling village free of corruption, the man will also given you $15000 as a token of appreciation. Good investment.

There was a beggar is the game who claimed that he knew that I was a bigamist, and he wanted to blackmail me, so I paid him $2000 to shut up. Of course, I could have just killed the guy, but I'm walking down the path of Good, and I don't want to ruin that by doing unnecessary evil deeds. I also got some Achievements from Fable 2, including the huge 100 point one for recruiting the Hero of Will. Right now my Achievement score is 9835.

I said yesterday that I would be posting my thoughts about Gears of War 2. So here it is:

The Good.

1) The story
The story is written by Joshua Ortega, a comic book and graphic novel writer who has worked on Spider-Man, Batman, The Escapist, Star Wars, Star Trek and The Necromancer. He has done a great job with Gears 2's story. The story properly ties all loose ends of the story of the original Gears of War. In Gears, the story was alright, but it lacked a human touch. In Gears 2, this is fixed. Dominic Santiago, one of the main characters, is searching for his wife. This makes the game much more human, and it really plays with your emotions at certain times.

2) The scale
Anyone who has played the original Gears' campaign will immediately know the difference with Gears 2's campaign. The scale of thing is much larger now. The enemy encounters are no longer small scale. In Gears 2, players are thrown into huge, epic battles, and it really feels like you are fighting in a war for humanity's survival. The fight moves from large forests to the humongous Locust hollow vast underground tunnels and facilities to mountain to human cities and finally back to the Locust Hollow.

3) The control

This is the reason why Gears of War doesn't work on the PC. In fact, it will not work for any console except for the Xbox 360. The controls for Gears 2 is assigned in such a way that the easiest way to play it would be with a 360 controller. It feels right to use such controls in a game, and the cover system is also improved. Right now, players have much more control over the characters are they duck for cover.

4) The audio
The music in Gears of War 2 is top notch. The developers wanted the music to reflect the Gears universe, so they came up with the theme "destroyed beauty". The music really did turn out that way in the end product. The music sounds like end of the world music, but there are hints of other kinds of music mixed with it, making you feel as if the music could have been beautiful at one point of time, but now it has been corrupted until it sound that way. Voice acting is pretty damn good too.

5) The guns
All of the guns that appeared in the original Gears have been improved, and several new ones are added to the mix. The Lancer, dubbed "the chainsaw gun" by fans, is just a reliable as it was in the original Gears. The Hammerburst rifle now fires in single bursts, making it deadly accurate. When you shoot the guns, the vibrations from the controller make the guns feel really powerful. The addition of a flamethrower makes it even more fun to kill opponents.

6) The graphics
I can sum up Gears of War 2's graphics in one sentence: It is the best looking game so far on any console. No matter how good you might think a game's graphics are, they cannot compare to the graphics of Gears 2. The fire is beautiful, the water is beautiful, the environments are beautiful, the weapons are beautiful, the character models are beautiful, the blood is beautiful, kill some one is beautiful, an dying yourself is beautiful.

I'm sure you understand now that Gears 2 is a beautiful game. And you must play it on a HDTV. Playing it on a normal TV will give you graphics better than most games. To give you an idea of how it looks in HD: it is not as good as sex, IT IS SEX.

7) The characters
The character in this game are really memorable. Gears of War is a new franchise, and yet, main character Marcus Fenix is a well know as any other famous game character. In fact, the characters have so much charisma that they have developed a cult following. Each member of Delta squad has their fans. When characters die, you actually feel sad for them. That's quite hard to achieve; making gamers care for the characters.

8) The boss fights
In the original Gears, players fought sub bosses known as Beserkers, and we had to take down the final boss General RAMM. In the PC version of Gears, which was released a year later, players faced a boss encounter with a Brumak, which is a giant dinosaur like creature. In Gears 2, Brumaks are nothing but sub bosses. And if you think a Brumak is big, you should see the other bosses.

Players get to take on a HUGE worm [it's length is longer than the height of a mountain] that can only be killed from the inside. There's also an encounter with the Kraken, a gigantic sea monster. Players also fight Skorge in a chainsaw fight, and the game ends with a fight against a Lambent Brumak, which is a mutated [and super-sized] Burmak.

9) Chainsaw Duels
When two players rev up their chainsaw bayonets at the same time, what happens? You get into a chainsaw duel. Both players rapidly tap the button indicated on-screen. Their characters push at each other with their chainsaws clashed. Sparks fly everywhere. The winner is rewarded with his opponent's blood splattered all over his screen. It's satisfying as hell.

10) The finishers

In the Gears of War series, players don't immediately die once their health reaches zero. Instead, they enter a near death mode and their team mates have a set period of time to revive them before they die for good. However, when you down an opponent, you have an option to finish them with brutal finishing moves.

In Gears, you could finish the opponent by sticking a grenade to them, by chainsawing them, or by curb stomping them [you crush their head with your foot]. In Gears 2, you still have all these options, but there are many more ways to finish your enemies. You can punch them to death. You can also use certain weapons for special finishers. For example, if you use a sniper rifle to finish your opponent, you will use the rifle as a golf club and you will hit his head off. You can also pick up your opponent and use him as a meat shield. Once you're done with him, you can thank him by snapping his neck.

11) The vehicles
In Gears, players could control a UV light firing tank, but that was it for vehicles. In Gears 2, players get to ride of large trucks called Derricks, drive a Centaur tank, ride on flying creatures know as Reavers, and ride a Brumak. There is nothing more satisfying than riding a Brumak. You can shoot and stomp and beat the shit out of everything. It's like having god mode without actually having it.

12) The multiplayer
Big improvement from the original Gears. Gears 2 ships with 10 maps, and 5 more remakes of maps from Gears. There are fun new game modes. The multiplayer is also much more balanced now. All weapons have stopping power, which means they push you back. This means that players can no longer run up to an opponent and finish them with a cheap chainsaw kill. If you rush madly up to an opponent, you will only be pushed back constantly, making you a sitting duck.

The inclusion of A.I bots also allows players who don't player online to get a fraction of what it feels like to play against real people. And then there's Horde mode, a mode where up to 5 players work together to fight off hordes of enemies of increasing difficulty. There is 50 levels of enemies to fight against, and the difficulty increases every 10 waves. Horde is a gift from god.

The Bad.

1) Environmental kills

In Gears 2, there are certain levels where you have to avoid environmental hazards like deadly hail and automated turrets. It is fun at first, but when avoiding stuff while having to fight enemies at the same time, it gets quite frustrating.

2) Online Matchmaking
Why is it so freaking slow?

3) No Beserkers
WHY?!! Everyone loved Beserkers, wonder why Epic took them away.

4) Other game graphics
After playing Gears 2, your brain will automatically make you think that all other games look like shit.

5) Language/Violence filter
This is stupid. It clearly states on the box the Gears 2 is targeted at a mature audience, and it contains strong language, blood and gore. After reading that, who would buy the game and turn on the filter? I think it's unnecessary. If a parent is irresponsible enough to buy the game for their kid, then they can also be irresponsible enough to lie to him. Just tell him something like "Son, that thing spraying out of the bad man's head is BBQ sauce."

6) Meat Flag becomes Submission
In Gears 2, the Capture the Flag mode was originally called Meat Flag, but it got changed to Submission. Meat Flag sound nicer. More badass. Submission just sounds like some type of sex.

Overall, Gears of War 2 pwns your face off. If you have a Xbox 360, you have no choice but to buy it. If you don't have a Xbox 360, buy or steal one and play this game. Sure, stealing is a crime, but it is an even bigger crime not to play it. It has a great story mode, and a great multiplayer. If you like shooters even a little bit, this game is for you.

I just read the first review of Price of Persia on IGN.com. It got 9.3/10. Good, now I can buy it without hesitation.

A new Angry Video Game Nerd episode came out last night. It's the CD-I part 2 episode. After the underwhelming CD-I part 1 episode, I thought that the Nerd had lost his touch, but this episode proved me wrong. The Nerd is back, and he's as angry as ever. Great episode. Check it out:

Ok, I'm done. Off to read One Piece. I'm also going to check out the new Naruto and Bleach chapters. Ok, ending off, see you tomorrow.

Hello. I'm back from Sebastian's house. I was sleeping just now, and I just woke up. I reached Sebastian's house at 9.30pm, then he thought us the rules of Mahjong. I have never played Mahjong in my entire life prior to this, so I didn't know how to play.

After we knew how to play, we played for a really long time. We kept talking cock and we came up with names for certain tiles. We used plastic tokens as money. I realised that when playing Mahjong, time really flies. Before I knew it, it was already 5am.

Then we played some card games, and I also had to be thought how to play these. I don't know how to play any card game believe it or not. I don't even know how many of each card there are in a deck. I know it's sad. But I specialise in another field. So I don't have to know.

At about 9am we went to McDonald's to eat breakfast, then we went back and played Mahjong some more. I left Sebastian's house at 12.30pm, and I had to take a train back home. I had to carry my guitar home as well, since I brought it to Sebastian's house, but the thing is so freaking heavy. I remember the times when I was carrying a classical guitar around. That thing was so light and easy to carry around compared to this one.

I got back home at about 1.30pm, I took a shower, then I just slept until 8pm. I woke up and ate my dinner, and now I'm using my computer typing this post.

Some news:
-PS3 version of Alone in the Dark is basically the same shit game with less bugs, so please don't ever buy it.
-Xbox 360 recently managed to sell more units in the past three years than the original Xbox in it's entire lifetime. Now every current generation console has outsold its predecessor, except the PS3, but we all know that it is never going to happen.
-Xbox Live Marketplace Black Friday sale is on. Selected Arcade games, NXE themes, and game content are on sale at discounted prices.
-Ubisoft is currently working on Assassin's Creed 2. As we all know, the game's protagonist, Altair, can now swim, but Ubisoft is promising other game changing mechanics as well. However, the game will not be released until there is enough hype for it. What the hell is up with that?
-Destroy All Humans!: Path of the Furon is now a Xbox 360 exclusive. The Ps3 version of the game has been cancelled. I don't think the game will be good though.
-Resident Evil 5 demo will be hitting Japan on December 5, and it will be available in North America at a later date. It's Resident Evil 5, so everyone is allowed to say OMG.
-Sony finally realises how big a bitch they were being, so now all their movies are back on Xbox Live's movie streaming service.
-Halo 3: Recon's name has been changed to Halo 3: ODST. I still think they should put the number 3 in the title. Bungie's milking Halo 3 way too much, and it's not even that good a game in the first place.

Ok, I'm about to end off now. I'll be posting my thoughts on Gears of War 2 tomorrow. Now, I'm off to read One Piece. Ok, ending off, see you tomorrow.

Hello. Today is post number 100!! Congrats to myself for managing to write 100 posts. I still remember the time when I used to be too lazy to blog. Now I blog everyday. Because I'm awesome.

I decided to do an early post today because I'm probably going to be staying over at Sebastian's house tonight. I'm going to have to keep this post short, because I have to attend some prayers later on, and I'm leaving my house in a while.

Today I went out with my mother, siblings, auntie, cousins and grandmother. We went to Cafe Cartel at Raffles City. The one that I occasionally went to with Friend. I'm not going there with her anymore. Not going to talk about it.

Anyways, we ate there for a few hours, then we walked around Raffles City, and I managed to get December's issue of Electronic Gaming Monthly magazine.

After that we took a train to Raffles Place, and we walked about for a while, then I went to the toy shop which I'm supposed to be looking for a job at. The shop keeper said that they were looking for some more assistants because they are opening a new branch, so maybe I will be abe to get the job. $7 per hour, and I have to work for 4 hours a day.

I would like to clarify that I'm not trying to get a job because I'm broke [that never happens to me], I just want to get some experience. I've planned in advance for this holidays, so I have more than enough cash to buy everything I want to buy.

We went to some food court, and we just slacked there for a while. My grandfather came to meet us since he is working nearby. After that, we went to some other toy shops. These shops were really cool. They were selling figurines of anime, movie, comic, and videogame characters. I saw many Halo figures, some Gears of War figures, a lot of Tranformers, Final Fantasy characters, Dante from Devil May Cry, some Marvel characters, and a lot a WWE figures. Cool shop.

Then we took a bus back to Tiong Bahru Plaza, and we walked home. I started typing this post. Ok, now I need to go and bath and eat my dinner, then I need to get some of my stuff for tonight, then I'm going to leave for the prayer. Ok, ending off, see you tomorrow.

Hello. My cousins came over today and we played some Call of Duty: World at War deathmatch. Before that I was playing Unreal Tournament 3 and Gun. I also tried to play Superman Returns for the Achievements, but I can't do it. I have no idea why I even bought the game. Superman super sucks.

I am almost completing Gun now but I've reached a boss that's impossible. I haven't been doing many side missions, so my stats aren't too good, but they are good enough to get me this far into the game. But even my most damaging gun can only manage to down a small fraction of his health. His gun, on the other hand, is strong enough to down half my health with one hit. And he is so damn accurate. Screw it, it's ridiculous.

I'm getting kinda bored playing games all day, so if anyone is going out please call me along.

I started watching Naruto after a really long time. The website I go to is pretty reliable, but some episodes cannot work. Anyone who knows a better website, please let me know. I'm watching the filler episodes with that fag Sora. I feel like skipping to episodes with the actual storyline, but then I won't be able to say that I've watched the entire Naruto. If I could survive that 60+ episode filler arc of the original Naruto, I'll get through this as well.

Ok so I got tagged by Perry. So now I got to do this. Basically I got to list down 10 weird or less know facts about me. Then I'm supposed to get 10 other people to do this. And no person I tagged is supposed to tag me back. Ok. Here goes.

1) I treat my games with the same care I would treat a human being.
2) I cannot stand overly bright places. Hurts my eyes.
3) I'm the sex demon, and I'm in an perpetual battle with the sex god Yan Ming.
4) I once used to listen to Westlife. HAHAHAHAHA.
5) I start writing a novel when I have nothing else to do. It's not like a 10 000 word story. It's more like a few hundred thousand word one. And I enjoy writing them.
6) I used to wear braces.
7) I once kept a caterpillar until it became a butterfly.
8) I don't like to be in crowded places.
9) I try to think positive as much as possible. I can't stand emo people.
10) I have the ability to pwn people without noticing it. Just ask Yan Ming.

I'm supposed to get 10 people to do it, but I don't know 10 people with blogs. So if you want to do the list, then go ahead. See, I didn't sabo anyone.

When parents give you advice, you'd expect them to say things like "You can't do this until you're married" or something like that. I was talking to my father yesterday, and this is the advice he gave me "You can do whatever you want, but don't get caught." That's good advice.

The first Fable 2 downloadable content have been announced. It's called the Knothole island pack for now, and it will be available for download on Xbox Live during mid-December. It will cost 800 Microsoft points [S$16]. Here are the key features of the expansion pack:

Knothole Island Key Features:I'm also trying to get the legendary Wrekager cutlass weapon, which can only be obtained through a code found in the Limited Edition versions of Fable 2. But even after you've used the code to unlock the weapon, you have to go through some underwater dungeon to get it.

I embedded some videos. Firstly, some more game play footage of Wanted: Weapons of Fate. From what I'm seeing right now, the game might actually be good:

Here's a video of all the Fatalities of Mortal Kombat vs DC Universe. The game is alright, but the Fatalities are horrible. Mortal Kombat should be a Mature rated game, and since they were trying to make this a Teen rated game, all the violent, over the top finishers are gone. The new ones are downright pathetic. Anyways, just check it out:

And just to give you an idea of how much the Fatalities have been watered down, here are the Fatalities of Mortal Kombat Armageddon:

This video parody of Guitar Hero is awesome:

Ok, that's about all for today. Ending off, see you tomorrow.

Hello. 98th post today. Two more posts to the 100th post. I played a lot of Xbox today. I played Gun, which was one of the earliest games to appear on the 360. I'm playing it on Hard difficulty, and it's owning me. The sad thing is that Hard difficulty isn't even the hardest difficulty.

I also played Fable 2 for a few hours. I'm at the part where you enter the Spire to rescue the Hero of Will, but I haven't started the mission yet because I want to finish the side quests first. I'm still trying to figure out how to have sex in the game. Every time I get my wife to follow me to a bed, the only option available is to sleep. This happens even at the bed in my own house. Anyone who knows how to get some sex, kindly let me know.

I also played that shitload of **** game Alone in the Dark. I force myself to get through one of the levels for the Achievements. I have never played a more unlikable game. It's full of glitches. I have nothing against glitches. They can make a game hilarious to play. But in this game, the glitches can actually kill you.

It's ridiculous. And the control sucks. The main character walks like a robot and he often will get stuck in corners. The camera is horrible as well. I understand that they were trying to give the game a cinematic feel by auto positioning the camera, but it just feels awkward. I have been killed a few times because of the camera. Enough about Alone in the Dark. I can't believe I spent $72 on it. Would you spend $72 on a piece of shit? I actually did. Sad.

Say Yin and Sebastian were going to Downtown East today, so they asked me if I wanted to come, but my mother didn't allow me to go. I dunno if Yan Ming went. I think we're going to the zoo this week. I hope my mother allows me to go. She will worry about the tiger incident and all. I don't really care. A mere tiger is no match for me. If it bites me I will bite it back.

I was watching some of the earlier Angry Video Game Nerd episodes. He said this funny statement about falling platforms, which are often found in early platforming games. He said, "To get it to fall, you stand under it. If you stand under it, it kills you. What a paradox." lol. I think everyone should go and watch AVGN, because it would be a crime not to watch it.

Now I'm trying to play some easy song on the guitar just for fun. I'm looking for the songs of "easy" bands, like Good Charlotte, Boys Like Girls, or the Red Jumpsuit Apparatus. Not songs that I like to listen to, but they'll have to do. Most songs that I like to listen to are metal, and metal songs are hard to play, and they also usually require other tuning. I'm too lazy to tune my guitar down. I think I'm going to try to play "Damn Regret" by The Red Jumpsuit Apparatus.

Some news:
-Harmonix just got sued over Rock Band's lousy drum kick pedal.
-Pre-order GTA IV PC version over Steam and get GTA: Vice City for free.
-Xbox 360 Avatars can do more than you might think. People recently discovered that they can display facial emotions depending on the buttons you are pressing, and some themes come with bonus Avatar clothing and hair styles. If you are interested, here are all the emotions:

While in Avatar Customizer
*Exclusive to "My Features" area or anywhere Avatar head is zoomed in on.
While in Xbox 360 Dashboard
-Guitar Hero 3 playing robot pwns humanity by acing "Cult of Personality" on Expert mode. If you're thinking that that's no big deal, you probably have never tried playing the song before.
-Xbox 360 just celebrated it's 3rd year in existence yesterday. Wishing it a few more years of domination.
-Tomb Raider Underworld not living up to hype. It scored average review scores from almost every game website.

I was just looking at the release dates for next year's games. It's not even here yet, but 2009 is shaping up to be great year for gaming, possibly even better than 2007 and 2008. There are plenty of heavy hitters lined up for next year, like Street Fighter IV, Resident Evil 5, Godfather 2, Bioshock 2, Halo 3: Recon and Final Fantasy XIII, as well as less known AAA titles like Mafia 2, Halo Wars, Bionic Commando, Prototype, Batman: Arkham Asylum, Bayonetta and I am Alive. There are even rumoured games like Half Life 2: Episode 3 and Doom 4 set for a 2009 release. I can't wait for next year to begin.

Ok. I need to read One Piece now. Getting really cool. Ok, ending off, see you tomorrow.

Hello. Today I went to the gym. I woke up early, then I followed my family to the Home Team NS clubhouse opposite Yan Ming's wife's school. We used the gym there for about an hour. Some of the guys there damn buff. And there were some old men who were working out as well.

After that, we went to eat some food at the cafeteria, then we went to swim. I haven't been swimming for a really long time, so I'm sure my speed has dropped. I didn't time it, but I think I took slightly more than 1 min 40 sec to swim 100m. Like I said, I've slowed down.

After that I went home and played Fable 2. I was hired as a blacksmith's assistant, and I had to smite swords for money. After a really long time, I finally got enough cash to buy a house of my own, so I bought a huge one at Bowerstone marketplace. I then got married to a women, and we moved into the house. After a while, she started demanding for sex. I found a condom in the game, but I have yet to decide whether to use it or not.

After I've completed my current quest, I plan to get married to another woman, and if my first spouse starts complaining, I shall simply kill her. Fable 2 is awesome like that. I also noticed that my character is more on the good side than on the evil side. There are blue, holy looking patterns forming on his body.

In the evening, we went to my grandparent's house because their old neighbour from Sentosa had come to visit. When my grandparents were younger, they were living on Sentosa, and the woman visiting them had been their neighbour for a really long time. She moved to Amsterdam many years ago, but she visits my grandparents every year.

Anyways, we just said hi and stuff, then we ate dinner and I played Wii with my cousins. I got bored really quick, so I started to play N+ instead, which is a platform game. I played it on my cousin's DS. The first few stages are easy, but the later stages get tricky. The game is on sale on Xbox Live Arcade as well, so I might buy it.

Once we got back home, I started using my computer. I saw some funny videos. I embedded a few. People from the same class as me would probably have seen some during Geography period, but those who haven't seen them, enjoy:

Gamestop Hint or Else Ad

Learn English Ad

Vegetarian Ad [Must be perverted to understand.]

Ikea Tidy Up Ad

My Momma Said I Could! Ad

Ridiculous Indian Fight

Ok, I want to continue reading One Piece now. Hopefully I'll be able to finish the video I'm making by tomorrow, then I can upload it. Ok, ending off, see you tomorrow.

Hello. 96th post today. 4 more to the 100th post. Cool. I spent the day cleaning my room again. This time, I just had to move some things around, and I stored all the stuff I wanted to keep. I also had to take all the posters off my wall because my father asked me too. Damn it, now my room is so bright that I feel blinded. I want my old wall back :(

Early this morning [really early, like 2.30 am], Rockstar games announced that the Xbox 360 exclusive Grand Theft Auto IV expansion will be available for download on Xbox Live on the 17th of February 2009. It is titled "The Lost and Damned". The lead character is no longer Niko Bellic. Players will control Johnny Klebitz, a biker who is part of the Lost, a biker gang from GTA IV.

The expansion pck promises new missions, multiplayer modes, new locations, vehicles and weapons.Rockstar also claimed that it will change the way the game is played. It adds on about 15 hours of gameplay, and it will probably cost 1600 Microsoft points [S$33]. I really hope that tanks and fighter planes will become available, and I also want chainsaws and flamethrowers. It is also rumoured that a zombie survival mode will be added to multiplayer. Here are the first few screenshots:

We went to the temple during the evening, then we went to Tiong Bahru Market for dinner. We ate until about 8.45pm, then we walked home. As soon as I got home, I used my computer. I went onto gametrailers.com and I watched some trailers, as well as Gametrailers TV [GTTV], which is a weekly game news show.

This week's show was about Wanted: Weapons of Faith, a game which takes part immediately after the events which took place in the Wanted movie. The trailer of the game is pretty cool:

I hope the game won't suck. It looks pretty good right now. There's also a trailer of Batman: Arkham Asylum. I hope that this game doesn't suck either. Seems like dark, gritty hero games are what everyone is interested about now. It started with Prototype, and now there's this game. But I want to see some game play first. Trailer:

Ok, I'm going to read One Piece now. Ending off, see you tomorrow.

Hello. Today was a really tiring day. I was out for like 9 hours. I woke up early, and I followed my family to Casuarina Curry House to eat breakfast. We ate roti prata and I drank ice milo dinosaur. After that, we went to Monfort Secondary. My brother and parents went to take a look at the facilities while me and my sister waited in the car.

After seeing the school, my father stopped by AMK Hub for a while and I went to look for Naruto: Broken Bond, but it is out yet. Damn it, same thing happened with Rise of a Ninja last year. We only got it a month after it was released in USA. I hope history doesn't repeat itself because I can't wait to get it. I also realised that Rock Band 2 is out, but only for the PS3. Anyways, since Broken Bond wasn't out yet, I just bought Left 4 Dead.

Left hand, 4 fingers, dead man's hand. Oh. Hahahaha.

After that we went to St.Gabriels. Same thing, I waited in the car with my sister while the rest of them went to look around. Finally, we went to Maris Stella. Damn it, I never expected to go back to that place so soon. Anyways, this time I followed my mom and brother to the General Office and my mother talked to the administration people. I saw Ms Png at the front porch.

We then headed to huge Giant outlet at Tampines. We bought some stuff, then we headed over to the Courts Megastore. I was looking for a laptop because my father said that he'd buy me one if I got into JC. I saw this cool HP one with 4GB RAM, 2GB HDD, 512MB graphics, and a BluRay player. So many nice features, and it's only $2300. We didn't buy it. Not yet anyways. I need to get my results back first.

We went to the huge Ikea outlet as well, and we bought some furniture and we also ate the hotdogs. We left the place at 6.30pm, and by the time we reached home, it was 7pm. I played Left 4 Dead with my brother, and the game is quite generous with the Achievement points. I got 145 points from just playing one level, boosting my Gamerscore to 9430. 10 000 points is so close now.

We got through the level pretty quickly, so we were finished by 7.30pm, and my brother said that he wanted to use the computer, so I played Devil May Cry 4 instead. I'm getting my skills back. Here are videos of every single boss in the game. I'm using Nero. In every fight, I managed to get a style ranking of at least A, and I managed to get SSS in one of the fights. Enjoy:

Nero vs Angelo

Nero vs Berial

Nero vs Bael

Nero vs Echidna

Nero vs Agnus

Ok, I'm going to watch TV now. Ending off, see you tomorrow.

Hello. Today, I worked really hard. But before we get to that, I have other things to talk about. My brother got back his PSLE result today. It's an alright grade, good enough to get into a neighbourhood school. He's trying to get into St.Gabriels Secondary School. Hope he manages to get a place.

My parents followed my brother to his school to get his results, so I took the opportunity to play a bit of Xbox when they were gone. I played Spider-Man: Web of Shadows. I made a video of the scond last boss fight:

After that, I had to clean up my room. I cleared out all my old notes and worksheets, but I still have my textbooks, some workbooks, and 10 year series books with me. Most of these are pretty new because hardly used them. I have both Sec 3 and Sec 4 books. Anyone who wants them, please let me know ASAP.

I also threw away a lot of my old stuff, including some LIME magazines, model kit paint, posters, trading cards, etc. I cleaned up for a really long time, like 4 hours. Then my cousins came, and we played 4 player Call of Duty: World at War deathmatch. Call of Duty WaW multiplayer is better than the multiplayer of it's predecessor. It's much more fun, and it actually takes some skill to play since your opponents only appear on radar when they fire their guns.

After a while, my auntie came and she surprised my brother with a cake [for his PLSE results -.-]. It was chocolate cake but I only ate a bit. I don't like chocolate cake because I find them overly sweet. I prefer mango cake or cheese cake or mango cheesecake.

Naruto manga chapter came out early this week [yay], so I went to read it. Another cliffhanger ending. Damn it.

I went onto the gametrailers.com forums, and I found some threads which reminded me why gametrailers has an awesome community. Below are picturs of some of the topics. It was fun taking part in the discussions. The topics are the words in bold FYI.

After everyone left, I continued cleaning my room for a while, then I decided to use my computer. Ok, now I'm going to watch Ugly Betty. Ok, ending off, see you tomorrow.

Hello. I just realised that I'll be writing my 100th post in a few days time. Nice. Well, today was no different than any other day of the holidays. I was supposed to go to Nicholas house but because my mother went to do her hair, I had to stay at home to babysit my siblings. Sad life.

Since I was stuck at home the entire day, I finally managed to get my brother to complete the final act of Gears of War 2 with me. I feel that Epic saved the best for last. Act 5 is the best level I've played in the entire series. Things get really cool. Spoilers ahead.

Delta escapes the Locust hollow by piloting Reavers; they defeat Skorge's flying beast after a intense aerial battle; they reach Jacinto, where there are many Cogs putting up a last stand; they head back into the hollow; they pilot a Brumak [which is a awesome experience]; the Brumak gets mutated by Imulsion; they Hammer of Dawn it to hell; Jacinto gets destroyed; the Locust hollow gets flooded by seawater, wiping out a whole lotta Locust.

After the credits, there is a little Easter egg. A voice says "This is Adam Fenix...Can anyone hear me...I repeat...This is Adam Fenix...Can anyone hear me...What have you done..." Ok, so Marcus' dad isn't too happy with what has happened. And the Locust Queen is still alive. So I guess it's pretty save to say that there'll be a Gears of War 3. Cool.

After completing Gears 2, I was rewarded with a plethora of Achievement points, boosting my Gamerscore to 9265. Nearer and nearer to 10k. I think I'm going to try to get at least 500 Achievement points from each game. That way I'll have a minimum Gamerscore of 18000.

I started reading One Piece manga. I'm currently on chapter 15, so I've got a lot of catching up to do. I remember watching the anime on Kids Central when I was a kid, but because I was younger back then, I didn't really understand what was happening, but now that I do understand, One Piece is pretty nice.

I stumbled upon yet another website that auto plays music when you load the page. Damn it, I'm getting sick of this. When will these people actually realise that we might actually be listening to our own music while surfing the net, and also, we probably don't care about the song that's being played. Oh well.

Some news:
-New Xbox Experience update is now available on Xbox Live. I already updated it, and I also created my avatar. It takes about 4 minutes for the initial setup.
-Sony, being the bitches they are, banned all Sony licensed movie from Xbox 360's movie streaming service.
-Mortal Kombat vs DC Universe surprises everyone by getting an average review score of 8.0/10.
-Call of Duty: World at War launch week sales outsell Call of Duty 4 launch week sales 2:1 in the UK.
-Left 4 Dead delivers on the hype, scoring an average review score of 9.2/10.
-Champions online may be available on the PS3 as well. Previously, it was only for the PC and Xbox 360.
-80% of PS3 owners are active online, while less than 50% of Xbox 360 owners use Xbox Live.
-Dragonball Z movie is going to suck.
-Street Fighter IV has been confirmed for a February 19 2009 release.
-Gears of War 2 limited edition red Xbox 360 controller is now on sale.
-Naruto: Broken Bond gets 8.3/10 from ign.com, 0.1 less than Ultimate Ninja Storm. Broken Bond is twice as long as Rise of a Ninja, with its main storyline alone taking about 10 hours to complete. If you want to do all the optional activities, it can take 20 hours or more. It has 30 playable characters, almost 3 times the amount in the original game.

Ok, I want to go play about with the New Xbox Experience features now. Ending off, see you tomorrow.

Hello. Today my cousins came over and we played Xbox for pretty much the entire day. They brought over Smackdown vs RAW 2009, and we played Road to Wrestle Mania mode for some easy Achievement points. We also played Halo 3 and Guitar Hero 3. We played Call of Duty: World at War deathmatch. I love the attack dogs in the game. I played with my brother some more Gears of War 2. Now we're left with the final chapter.

My cousins left at 7pm, so I stopped playing. I ate my dinner, then I started using my computer. I was looking at some videos on Gametrailers. A new Naruto: Broken Bond trailer went up today, as well as a nice Prince of Persia walkthrough. The Xbox 360 Video Game Awards nominees were also announced. So I decided to talk less today. I'll just embed the videos here:

Naruto: Broken Bond Launch Trailer

Price of Persia Walkthrough Part 1

Price of Persia Walkthrough Part 2

Price of Persia Walkthrough Part 3

Price of Persia Walkthrough Part 4

-The Next Xbox Experience update will be up on Xbox Live on 19th of November 2008. Remember to update your console.
-New Xbox 360 exclusive game from Square Enix in development.
-I always thought that Need for Speed: Undercover would be bad, but this is offical proof that it sucks: It has a average review score of 4/10.

-Fable 2 first week sales is more than Little Big Planet overall sales, LBP not helping with PS3 sales.
-Xbox 360 exclusive Grand Theft Auto IV possibly coming end of January 2009.
-A new Team Fortress 2 class may be revealed soon.

Ok, ending off, see you tomorrow.

Hello. Today was quite a fun day. Say Yin, Sebastian and Yan Ming came to my house. I woke up at about 9am. I ate breakfast and used my computer for a while. I watched TV until 11am, then Say Yin and Sebastian came.

We played Guitar Hero 3 for a bit, then we played Naruto Rise of a Ninja. After that I watched Say Yin and Sebastian play through the [awesome!!] Left 4 Dead demo. We also played the Endwar demo and Say Yin was trying to control the units by using a Indian accent.

We played Devil May Cry 4. I realised that my demon killing skills have deteriorated because I have not played the game for a long time. My mother cooked for us lunch, and Yan Ming arrived as we were finishing. I played some more Guitar Hero 3 with Yan Ming. Yan Ming is trying to start playing Hard mode, so I probably should start doing Expert mode again.

We played Halo 3, Call of Duty 4, Call of Duty: World at War, and Gears of War 2, then they left. I cleaned up, then I went to my grandmother's house for a while. I ate some ice cream there, then I went back home. Everything else I did after that was pretty boring, so I won't blog about that.

I might start working soon. My auntie has this friend who works in a toy shop and he'll usually hire students as sales assistants during the holidays. The pay is $6 per hour, and all I have to do is to get people to buy the toys. The shop sells a lot of toys which require assembly, like Zoids, Gundam and even Tamiya cars.

Some of the customers buy these toys and leave it at the shop for the shop keeper to assemble, then they'll return later to collect it. I can easily assemble these things. I don't even need to refer to the instruction manual. I'll take 45 minutes for any Zoid, 30 minutes for a Gundam, and 20 minutes at most for a Tamiya car. So anyways, I hope he has a job vacancy. Easy money.

I think I'm going to stop here. Short post today. Maybe tomorrow's will be longer. I need to go and settle some thing now. Ok, ending off, see you tomorrow.

Hello. Today was quite a busy day for me. I woke up early and followed my family to the temple. It was really crowded today. I dunno why. After that we went to Little India to eat our breakfast. After breakfast, we went to Sheng Siong to buy groceries.

Here's a little piece of info for you: Sheng Siong is the worst supermarket in Singapore. I hate the place. It stinks, and the seafood section is horrible. They just dump live fishes onto the tray, so of course the fishes will struggle, then they will die. My mind is pretty twisted, but seeing something suffocate to death is not nice. I also saw a cockroach crawling around the rice sacks.

After escaping from hell on Earth, we went to my grandmother's house in Bishan. My cousins were there too, and we ate lunch and talked and watched TV for a while. At about 3pm, my family left because I had to continue cleaning up my room. I cleaned up the boxes in my cupboards today.

Most of the boxes were those of model kits, and many were half finished. In one of the boxes there was a cockroach. I opened the box and saw something running towards my face. My first reaction was to throw it onto the floor. The cockroach leaped onto my sleeve and crawled onto the back of my shirt, and then onto my pants.

I was pretty terrified by then because if there is only one thing I am allowed to fear in this world, it would be cockroaches. I'd rather get bitten by a bear then to let the cockroach crawl all over me. So I took off my pants and stood there in my boxers.

I couldn't see the cockroach any longer, so I kicked my pants, and the cockroach ran out of it. I ran into my kitchen cabinet and now I have to live in fear because I know there is a cockroach some where in my house.

At night we went to my other grandmother's house and we ate dinner, then we came back home and I just watched TV with my brother. I took a shower after watching Fantastic Four, then when I came out of the bathroom, my father asked me if I wanted to use the computer, so I said ok.

I started typing this post and after typing a few lines, Friend [finally] called me. I didn't turn out well. That was probably our shortest conversation, and those were probably the harshest words we have exchanged so far. And I don't even know what I did wrong. Man, I'll never figure her out. I have a feeling that this relationship is coming to a close. It's not over yet, but I can't be bothered to fix it.

On the bright side, if the worst case scenario unfolds, I'll once more be a free person. We'll see how it goes.

Tomorrow, Say Yin and Sebastian are coming to my house. Dunno about Yan Ming. Ok, I'm going to end off now. Need to play some game with mindless violence [I'm thinking Ninja Gaiden 2] to numb my brain so that I can stop caring. Ok, ending off, see you tomorrow.

Hello. Today is a special day. Why is it special? Is it some one's birthday? Am I going some where? Did I accomplish something?

No, no and no.

The why is today such a special day? Because 2 years ago on this day, I bought my Xbox 360. I bought my 360 on 15th of November 2006. And today is 15th of November 2008. 2 years. Yay. Every year on this day, I'll buy one game. In 2006, I got Dead or Alive 4, and last year, it was Assassin's Creed. This year, it was supposed to be Guitar Hero World Tour, but my father said that he didn't have enough cash to get it for me. Hmm...my dad doesn't have enough cash? Yeah right. I don't believe that.

Today I continued cleaning my room. I just finished, and I'm really tired. I managed to fit all my Zoids and Gundam into boxes, and I dumped all my books and comics into one of the cupboards in my room, so I can get rid of the display shelf, then I'll only have the shelf with my school books left.

I watched the new Watchmen trailer a few times. It's really cool. Of course, if you never exactly read Watchmen, which you probably haven't, you will not understand trailer. I really like how Rorschach turned out. His the guy with the moving ink blots on his face. He looks cool, and his voice is awesome. My favourite character from the Watchmen universe. Watchmen will be out in theaters next year. Here's the trailer:

I also saw this cool video on Gametrailers showing Gears of War 2 kills. Awesome. You should check it out:

I also played the Left 4 Dead demo, which turns out to be much better than I thought. It is a frantic zombie killing 4 player team game, and it is fun. Zombies don't do well against 4 people with automatic shotguns. The actual game is coming out on Tuesday, the 18th of November. I'm going to AMK Hub some time next week to get Left 4 Dead, Mirror's Edge and Naruto: Broken Bond, and I'm going to try to get Guitar Hero World Tour by next week too. Anyone wants to go with me, just tell me.

I'll probably be inviting you people to my house some time the following week. Right now, I have a list of about 15 people who I want to call, and I'll be asking these few people over the next few days, and after I've asked them all, I'll write down the names of those coming. If your name isn't in the list, but you want to come, then just tell me.

Ok, going to play World at War. After that, I'm going to make a phone call. Please answer this time. Ok, ending off, see you tomorrow.

Hello. Today we had our Leaver's Ceremony. I just reached home and it's nearly midnight. I'm not sleepy yet, so I'm going to type this post.

In the morning, I woke up early and started playing Xbox as usual. I played Grand Theft Auto IV, Call of Duty: World at War, and Fable 2. I did a few more missions in GTA, and I'm going to complete the game soon.

World at War is fun, but the flamethrower is freakin over powered, but then again, it is the flamethrower that makes the game fun. Japanese troops now hide in grass and in trees, so you can set the plants on fire and watch the Japs burn. The Japanese soldiers also do kamikaze charges from time to time. A big group of them will charge towards you in an attempt to stab you with their bayonets.

Today is also the first time I played Fable 2 without my brother. It's so much more fun to play alone because the camera can be controlled. When playing co-op, the camera is fixed and its really hard to play. I played up to the part where the Hero of Strength was recruited, and I got 100 Achievement points fro that, boosting my Gamerscore to 9040 points.

At about 2.45pm, my brother came home from school, and six of his friends came with him. They started playing Halo 3 and there was one guy who was like "How do I look around?" Well, you figured out that one thumbstick moves your character, but you're not smart enough to guess that the other thumbstick allows you to look around? Okay.

At 3.30pm, I left my house and took a train to Aljunied station, then I took a bus to school. When I reached the school, it was still early, so not many people were there yet. At about 5pm, we were allowed to enter our classrooms and more people started to come. We were given some souvenirs. There was this photo frame that was supposed to have the group photo of the entire sec 4, but mine didn't have the photo. Fine, I get it. I'm not important to the school. Fine.

After that we went to the hall and we sat at round tables. There were 2 candles on each table and we kept on playing with the wax. There were some boring speeches by Brother Anthony and some Guest of Honour who was an ex-Marist. After that we each had to go up on stage one by one to get some scroll thing, then we watched some videos, then the teachers sang some song for us, then we all sang the Marist version of the school song, and then FINALLY, we could eat.

The food was alright, better than the usual canteen food. After eating, Yeow Boon's mother gave Say Yin, Sebastian, Shi Jie, Yeow Boon and me a lift to Serangoon Garden, then we ate a second dinner at Chomp Chomp. We ate barbecue stingray, the shell things, and some vegetables. After that Shi Jie and Yeow Boon went home, and then I followed Say Yin and Sebastian to Sebastian's house.

Sebastian was going to stay overnight at Say Yin's house, so he wanted to bathe and take his stuff first. After that they left for Say Yin's house and I waited outside of Nanyang JC for my parents to fetch me home.

Ok, now I'm about to end off this post, but it's not because I'm sleepy or anything, it's because I have a sudden urge to kill some rebels in Far Cry 2. Oh, and tomorrow is quite a special day. Ok, ending off, see you tomorrow.

Hello. I used today productively as well by playing a lot of Grand Theft Auto IV. Yeah, gaming is not productive to some people, who probably think I should do something more productive, like work [my parents think that way], but I don't need to work now because I'm not so poor that I have to work now and waste my time as a teenager away. I'm going to enjoy life for now.

I'm finally getting interested in GTA IV again. I played the game for 5 hours today. It's good that I'm getting interested in playing the game again. We all should start playing it again since the downloadable expansion pack will be coming soon. Oh wait, I forgot, the DLC is Xbox 360 exclusive. Oh, hahahaha.

I went to my grandmother's house just now with my sister to take our dinner, then I came back home and started typing this post. So, I've got some promises to fulfill. First, I said yesterday that I'll be writing about my thoughts on Spider-Man: Web of Shadows, so I'm going to do that now:

The Good.

1) The city
If you've played any other Spider-Man game before, the first thing you'll notice when you're swinging around in WoS is how much the city has improved from previous games. The game's version of New York City feels much more alive now. The civilians looks much better now, and there are much more different character models.

Cars now hit you if you land in front of them all of a sudden. As the game progresses, the way the city looks actually changes. At the start, the city is bright and clean, and it slowly gets dirtier as the game progresses, and towards the end of the game, there are symbiote webs hanging all over the city.

2) The moves
In this game, there are tons of moves, and there are some moves which you would never expect Spider-Man to be able to pull off. Sure, there are the typical "web enemy, then beat him up" moves, but there are also moves that you would only expect in a God of War game. The moves are simple to pull off once you get to use them, but the results are visually impressive and satisfying as hell. The moves are what make a "beat em up" game good, and WoS does a really great job with the moves.

3) The fighting system
This is probably the first Spider-Man game which is able to make Spider-Man fight the way we all envision him to be able to. And the fight doesn't only take place on the street level. Players can kick an enemy off the ground, web him onto a nearby wall, the proceed to toss him into the air. Fighting now takes place anywhere, on or off the ground. There are even some really epic boss fights which take place entirely in the air.

4) The variety of missions
The missions in this game are more varied than the typical hero game. In most other hero games, players have to chase a boss, then defeat him, and this repeats over and over. In WoS, of course there is the occasional chase mission, but there are more interesting missions. One mission has you breaking R.H.I.N.O out of prison, while another requires you to use spider sense to find snipers in a crowd before they manage to assassinate their target.

5) The animation
Spider-Man is really agile in this game, and his animations are great. I am still amazed at the way he can pull off moves with such fluidity even though I've completed the game a long time ago. Whether you're swinging around the city, or fighting a bunch of enemies, the animations are impressive.

6) The choice system
At certain key moments in the game, players must choose whether they want to take the good or the bad path. Each choice results with a different cutscene, and this eventually all these choices will affect the final outcome of the game. Even though some may find these choices pointless, it does give the game much more replay value.

7) Throwing cars
This is the first Spider-Man game which allows you to pick up a vehicle and throw it. I first thought that this would be that much of a big deal, but throwing vehicles around onto enemies, bosses, and occasionally innocent civilians is freakin awesome.

8) Achievements
I'm not sure about the PS3 Trophies you can get from this game, but it is really generous with the Achievements it gives on the Xbox 360. If you're looking for a quick boost to your Achievement score, this is a game you should play. It can be completed in under 5 hours, and by playing through the story mode once, you can get about 690 points. This is one of those games that you can easily get the full 1000 Achievement points from very quickly.

The Bad.

1) The guest characters
When Treyarch first announced that there will be other Marvel characters in the game, many people got excited. Many of us were speculating on which character will actually be in it. However, the character which actually made an appearance in the final game is disappointing. I understand the choice of villains [R.H.I.N.O, Electro, Vulture and Black Cat], because they're all Spider-Man's enemies, but what's with the hero appearances?

Ok, Wolverine I can accept, because he is one of the most well known Marvel characters, but Moon Knight and Luke Cage? How many people actually know these guys? I know, because I read the comics, but what about people who have no knowledge of the Marvel universe? Why didn't they put in more well know characters like Iron Man, the Hulk and Captain America?

They even tease you by putting Iron Man posters all over the game, although the guy never makes an appearance. Bottom line is, the character choices are bad. Hope they have a better cast for the next game.

2) The story
The story is really cliche. Villain takes over city, main hero works with other heroes, at some point hero has to embrace his dark side to fight menace, eventually villain tries to turn over a new leaf, kills himself to save mankind. That's like the story line of almost every comic series in the recent years. I don't need the same storyline in a game as well. There are some good moments in the story, but these are too few.

3) The enemies
The enemy design and variety is great, and I have no issues with that, but what I really hate is how relentless the enemies can get. Seriously. There you are swinging, minding your own business. BAM, a flying enemy hits you behind all of a sudden, and you have to fight him and his friends. I mean, I would just like to enjoy swinging around for a while, if you don't mind. I know the game is not over, and you don't have to keep on reminding me by sending hordes of enemies after me.

4) The voice acting
I have no problems with the characters voices, and I even think some of them are pretty good, but what's with Spider-Man's voice? If you want to screw up a character's voice, at least make sure it's a secondary character, not the main character.

In the red suit, there are some times when Spidey almost sounds normal, but when he is screaming, either in pain or fear, his voice becomes downright irritating. In the black suit, he sounds like some thug looking for a fight. He is supposed to sound more edgy in the black suit, but not like a gangster.

5) The black suit
Sure, it's fun to use the black suit once in a while, especially to throw cars around, but it isn't as good as the red suit. It's more powerful, but so much slower, although Spider-Man is supposed to attack very rapidly. It also doesn't have a proper aerial attack, and I don't know why. The tendril attack is good though, but over all, it cannot compare up to the red suit in terms of moves.

6) The optional missions
There's a reason why these are optional. They require you to do ridiculous things like kill 1000 of a specific enemy. Why such a high number? I just want to play the game damn it, not do some boring side mission. If you want us to do your side missions, at least make them interesting.

7) The police
Seriously, what do these bastards have against Spidey? They continue to fire at enemies, although Spider-Man is in the middle of the horde, trying to keep the enemies from tearing the police apart. Yes, he's a superhero, but that doesn't mean bullets don't affect him. At least aim before shooting.

8) The civilians
Alright, so they're helpless normal people, but why do they keep having to throw themselves into life threatening situations? Towards the end of the game, when the entire city is over run by symbiotes, civilians still drive their car around the city. They get attacked and you have to rescue them.

What the hell man. The city is under lock down. No one is supposed to leave their houses. After a while, I decided that since the civilians were dumb enough to leave the safety of their houses, they deserved to die anyway, so I ignored their pleas for help. Dumb f***s.

9) The Quick Time Events
Man, QTEs have been done in way to many games. Sure, it was unique when it appeared in God of War, but these days, it just feels unnecessary. Also, do they have to be so unforgiving that you have to restart the entire sequence after missing just one button?

Overall, I feel that Spider-Man: Web of Shadows is a good game, and it's definitely the best Spider-Man game yet, but it won't appeal to everyone. If you're a Spidey fan, then get the game, but if you aren't, you won't know what is happening, so you probably won't enjoy it that much.

Ok, now that that's done, let's move on. I also said that I'll be doing a case study today, so here it is:

Case study: What makes a good guitar solo

These days, guitar solos are really common in a lot of songs, but we can hardly come across one as good as the solos of older songs. I was curious at why solos nowadays can't compare with solos of the past, so I did some research.

What is a guitar solo?
Guitar solos are a melodic passage, section, or entire piece of music written for an electric guitar or an acoustic guitar.

What makes a GOOD guitar solo?
Lots of people have different ways of describing a good guitar solo, but for me, I feel that a good guitar solo paints out a story. Many writers get inspiration from life and TV and some even take drugs or smoke or whatever, but I get inspirations for the novel I am writing from music. I may not have any new inspirations fro a very long time, but the moment I hear a good guitar solo, the story just forms up in my mind.

What do guitar solos of the past sound like?

Metallica "One" solo

Metallica "...And Justice for All" solo

Michael Jackson "Beat it" solo [played by Eddie Van Halen]

What do solos of the present sound like?

Avenged Sevenfold "Afterlife" solo

Bullet For my Valentine "4 Words to Choke Upon" solo

So, what's the difference between the solos? I've thought about it for a really long time, but I can't seem to find a answer. I have a few vague ideas though. Firstly, solos of the present borrow a lot for solos of the past, so many people feel that solos these days are unoriginal. Secondly, solos of the past require more skill to play than solos these days. Sure, some of the new solos may sound harder, but the strumming and picking technique is easy, and the notes are repeated over and over. Other than these two ideas, I can't really think of any thing else.

So, I guess there's no definite factor that makes a solo sound good. Music to one might just be noise to another. To me, a good solo paints a story, but to you, it will be different. I'll continue researching on this.

I just realised how fast my Achievement score has increased. A week and a half ago, I my Achievement score went above 8000, and now, it's already 8830. I'm reaching 10 000 soon.

Ok, I think I'm about to end now. Tomorrow is our official Leaver's Ceremony. Since Maris Stella High School is an all boys school, we don't have a prom night, and to make things worse, we have to wear our school uniform. With our ties. Other schools allow their students to wear other clothes. Sucks to be us. Anyways, I'll be bringing my camera, and I'll be uploading all the photos I take onto this blog. Check back tomorrow. Ok, ending off, see you tomorrow.
