Hello. Today was a good day because a whole lot of good stuff happened. These are some of the more prominent things that happened today, starting with the best: 1) We saw a whole lot of pretty girls :D 2) We played basketball. 3) We played arcade. 4) We saw a lot of cool toys and posters. 5) We ate at Subway. 6) We could potentially have a job by this week.
My mom woke me up early. Say Yin called me a few seconds later to wake me up, then I called Yan Ming to wake him up. I played Xbox for a few minutes to get some Achievement, then I took my shower and left my house.
I met Say Yin and Yan Ming at City Hall MRT station, then we walked through City Link to Marina Square. We stopped by HVM in City Link, and we stayed there for a while. I was fortunate enough to see Yan Ming go crazy playing Banjo Kazooie on a demo Xbox 360 console. We also saw his Skullcandy headphones, which look something like this:
We continued walking and we saw a shirt that was meant for Yan Ming, then we went to Marina Square to look for breakfast. We saw a newly opened Subway from the link bridge, but we didn't know how to get down there, so we ended up walking all the way to the other end of Marina Square, and back to where we started, only to find the escalator there.
We went to buy our food at Subway and we started eating, then after a while chio girl number 1 appeared. She came with her group of friends, but due to how her friends looked, her chio-ness was amplified. She even made Yan Ming hungry so he had to buy a sub too.
After eating, we walked around some more in Marina Square. I was mostly looking for clothes that I though would look nice on Yiling, which is like a whole lot of clothes. Then we walked out of the air conditioned area and we went to path that leads straight to the Ritz Carlton. It's cool to be near the hotel because I've never been there before, and it looks so huge we you are that close to it. Also, it was very windy where we were.
Since there was nothing left to do at Marina Square, we went to Suntec City. As we were walking we saw another girl that according to Say Yin and Yan Ming, "had damn long legs. Her legs are like half of her body."
We went to see the cosplay shop. It was really cool because they actually sold replicas of anime swords and a lot of other accessories. There's Ichigo's Zangetsu sword going for $160, and there is also the Akatsuki rings and the ninja village head protectors. There are also cosplay outfits that are for rental.
Of course there were those outfits worn by main characters in anime, but there is also a whole lot of school uniforms. You know, those worn by the girls in anime. The ones with the short skirts. Yiling, you know what to do. But we can't get the uniform dirty. ****.
After hanging around at the cosplay shop for a while, we went to a toy store and we were looking at the Gundam model kits and there were two that interested me. I don't mind buying them and properly finish them. That means I have to do sanding and painting and heat transferring as well. I don't mind since I'm so free these days. These are the Gundam:
This one is called Crossbone Gundam. It just looks badass, and it has a whole array of weapons that come with it. It is a 1/60 scale model and it cost around $90. Pictures:
This one is a Dynasty Warrior Gundam special edition model. It is called Shin Musha, and it is uber sexy. The weapons look sick and the red and gold colours are cool too. It is a 1/60 scale model, and it costs around $110. Pictures:
After that we went to the arcade and I found out that there is not one but four Street Fighter IV arcade machines there. We watched people play that for a while, then we played some games. Here are some photos I took:
Street Fighter IV.
There's more than one Street Fighter IV machine.Say Yin and Yan Ming were in that thing playing some game. It was like some shooting game that takes place in a jungle and everything in the world is trying to kill you.Say Yin and Yan Ming playing Time Crisis 4.
After that we went to Simply Toys. The amount of figurines, dioramas and buffs available there amazes me. I have always been a fan of these kind of things, so I felt really cool to be surrounded by a whole lot of them. The prices are way too high though.
We then went to Popcorn Pop to see some posters, and we saw the Transformers: Revenge of the Fallen poster, which isn't up in most cinemas yet. I asked the owner how much a Watchmen poster would cost, and it's like $45 for the poster alone, and $120 for the poster and a frame. Watchmen is awesome, but it is not $120 awesome.
We headed back to the MRT station, and on the way we saw another pretty girl walking in the opposite direction :D We took a train to Serangoon MRT station, and we met up with Sebastian and his primary school friend Ethel there and we went to play basketball.
Say Yin and Yan Ming gave me a lot of tips on how to improve my technique and after a while I could shoot quite accurately considering that it is the first time I actually learned. Only thing I have to learn now is the rules, because I'm playing too rough and if it carries on, Yan Ming could get killed by me.
After that we went to eat dinner and then my father sent Say Yin home, and then I got back home. I just slacked and watched TV and after my dad was done with the computer I started to use it.
This video is pretty cool. It's basically Halo 3, with the Fallout 3 VATs system edited into it. The end result is both cool and hilarious. Note that you might not understand what is happening if you have never played either game. Anyways, here it is:
Some news:
-Wii exclusive game Mad World gets a "MA 15+" rating in Australia, despite getting 18 years and above ratings in other, usually more lenient countries. I'm confused.
-Gametap will be removing 97 out of their 145 free games on Thursday, making these only available to gold subscribers.
-A couple got married in Florida last weekend in a Halo themed wedding. The wedding was officiated by a guy wearing the Master Chief armour. Picture below:
-Nintendo claims to be responsible for 99% of the video game industry growth in 2008. I woke say anything against that because I believe in giving fags a chance.
-PS3 exclusive game Flower will be available on Playstation Network on 12th of February 2009. No price announced yet.
-Developer IO Interactive announces their next game, Mini Ninjas, a casual, child friendly game coming to the DS and PC this Fall. Kinda weird, considering the fact that IO Interactive are the ones behind violent games like Hitman and Kane and Lynch.
-Rockstar games shoot down rumours of the possibility of another Grand Theft Auto appearing by the end of this year. Well, you're an idiot if you actually believed that rumour anyways.
-Forbes magazine calls Rock Band a "shameless knockoff of Guitar Hero that added drums, bass and a microphone", causing a massive uproar in the gaming community. What actually happened was that Rock Band added drums and vocals first, and Guitar Hero followed suit, releasing Guitar Hero World Tour a year later. The writer of that article is a dumbass.
-A Flash demo of Puzzle Quest Galactrix is now available, click here to try it out. The game will be releasing on DS, Xbox Live Arcade, Playstation Network and PC.
-Dragonball: Evolution coming exclusively to PSP in April. It is based of that upcoming live action Dragonball crap coming to cinemas. You know, the one that critics are optimistically calling a movie.
-New Achievements coming to Gears of War 2. These Achievement will be obtained through a upcoming patch, and both the Flashback and Combustible map packs are required to get them. A total of 175 Achievement points can be obtained by them.
-There will be a Killzone 2 PS3 bundle, which comes with the game and an 80GB PS3 console. It costs US$420, but it is unlikely that it will be sold anywhere outside the UK. Picture below:
-Wheelman has been pushed back to a 20th of March 2009 release date. A demo has been confirmed to be available before release.
-Kaz Hirai, COE of Sony Computer Entertainment, told the Official Playstation Magazine that the Xbox 360 "lacks longevity". He also added that "Unless things go really bad, there's no way that at the end of a life cycle our competition is going to have a higher install base." He said all these with having actual proof to justify his claims. I didn't know Sony was that desperate.
-Australia game sales grow by 47% yearly, resulting in a 112% increase compared to two years ago. The Australian game industry has also raked in a total of US$1.3 billion in profits.
-Game developers from studios that have worked on games like Fable 2, Crackdown, MotoGP and Grand Theft Auto have come together to form Ruffian Games studio. They plan to bring the best in action gaming to the current generation of consoles.
-OutRun Online Arcade will be released only on Xbox Live Arcade in North America, and both Xbox Live Arcade and Playstation Network every where else.
-Rock Band Wii has been rapidly adding songs to the Wii online store, until it is completely up to date with the Xbox 360 and Playstation 3 song lists. This is expected to be completed by February, then all three online stores will receive the same songs at the same time.
-PS3 firmware 2.60 update is now live, supports photo browsing through the new photo gallery.
-President Barrack Obama's inauguration takes the center stage on Xbox Live. Videos, images and news are being featured on Xbox Live in North America. I'm not sure about the rest of the world. Picture below:
Ok, I'm going to watch America Pie: The Wedding, which is basically the third American Pie movie. I wonder why they decided that numbering the movies were not so important anymore. Only the first two were numbered, then the other four weren't. It's a matter of simple convenience. Anyways, I'm going to watch it now. Ending off, see you tomorrow.
