Hello. I spent most of today outside. I'm kinda tired now, so I'm going to use my final ounce of spiritual power to type this post, then I'm just going to curl up and die. Sob...ok I'm going to stop being lame and start typing now.
I woke up and used my computer for a few hours, then I took my shower and left my house. I took a train to Eunos, then I met Say Yin and Yan Ming. We had our lunch, and I finally got to satisfy my craving for chicken rice.
We walked to the nearby MDIS building to attend some job briefing thing. The job is one of those too good to be true kind of jobs. It's like you can get $400 for just selling one product, you can get $10 000 if you have a team under you, you can get a free car, and it has flexible timing.
At first I was thinking that I wouldn't mind going for the training course, which will be on Friday and Saturday, but after talking about it to my parents, I've pretty much changed my mind. The job may give me a high income, but it is way too difficult and complicated for some one my age.
I'm probably going to find a sales assistant kind of job. You know, the kind where you just help to move things around, and you help people find stuff they're looking for. Something like what Yeow Boon is doing. I'm going to check all the shops in Tiong Bahru Plaza soon.
Hopefully I can get a job at Comics Connection because my knowledge of all things gaming probably exceeds all the staff there by a tenfold. If anyone is looking for a game, I don't even need to check for the release date; I have them all in my mind. And if some one needs a game recommendation, I can do that since I'm an actual gamer, unlike most of the staff.
After listening to the talk, we took a bus back to Say Yin's neighbourhood. Sebastian met us there and we went to play basketball for a while. After that we had our dinner, then I took a train home.
While I was in the train I called Yiling because I wanted to ask her if she wanted to go to East Coast Park with us tomorrow. She happened to be with Kim at Vivocity doing some shopping, I told them that I was on the way home and I would be reaching Tiong Bahru Plaza soon.
They went there to meet me although I didn't ask them to, then I ate a second dinner with them at McDonalds. Yiling treated me this time. It's nice to go out with those two because I'm always getting free stuff. After that I drank a chocolate milkshake with them. If you look at the previous sentence carefully, you might realise something :P
When I finally got home I talked to my parents for a while, then I took a shower and I played Burnout Paradise for a while. I'm really close to getting an Achievement that requires you to get 500 Takedowns. Right now I have 479 Takedowns. A few more to getting 20 Achievement points.
I really like the previous Burnout Paradise update, the one that added motorcycles and all, but I'm not too fond of the day and night cycle. I know it's more realistic, but why the **** does Paradise City get so ****ing dark at night. This is a serious problem. During the night, it is close to impossible to even play the game.
Since the headlights of the cars are so freaking weak, you can only see things that are directly in front of you. That means you don't see the upcoming obstacles until you are right about to crash into them. If you're just cruising around the city, then it is tolerable, but when you are in an event, it feels unfair to lose just because you crash too much.
I know that I can adjust the game brightness during the night, and set it back to default upon daybreak, but you are a ****ing no life if you do that. I mean, I'm paying for the game, so why the hell do I have to constantly adjust the brightness? Criterion, the developers of Burnout Paradise, is one of my favourite developers, but they seriously need to fix this problem.
Here are some possible solutions. Make the headlights on the cars brighter. Put more street lamps in Paradise City. Don't make the night that dark. Have a warning indicator appear on screen when you are approaching an obstacle. I'm sorry, I know I'm nitpicking here, but you have no idea how ****ing frustrating this darkness issue is unless you play the game. Ok, rant over. I am happy now :D
I wanted to watch American Idol [I only watch the auditions by the way, they are much more fun than the rest of the competition], but my sister needed my help with the computer, so I helped her, then I helped my father do the laundry, then I finally got the computer to myself.
I had a conversation with Say Yin, Sebastian and Ethel on MSN. Yan Ming was in it too, but he was bathing so he said only about ten lines or so before he was afk. The conversation was fun and surprisingly stress relieving. I know I got nothing much to get stress from now, but it's nice to have a relaxing conversation like that once in a while.
I learned this sign from Ethel: _|_ . That's the finger. The middle finger. Cool.
Now my body is really starting to ache, especially my legs and stomach. I've been playing basketball quite frequently over the past few days, and since I normally don't play, I guess I'm not used to it yet, so my legs hurt. And I've been doing like 200 bicycle exercises everyday for quite a while now, so that explains the pain in my stomach.
I'm taking a break from the bicycle exercise today, but since I'm on the topic, it is the most effective exercise for building abs. If you do about a hundred a day, results can be seen in about 2-3 days, a week at most. But you have to do it properly for it to work. If you want to try it out:
Bicycle Exercise 1. Lie face up on the floor and lace your fingers behind your head. 2. Bring the knees in towards the chest and lift the shoulder blades off the ground without pulling on the neck. 3. Straighten the left leg out while simultaneously turning the upper body to the right, bringing the left elbow towards the right knee. 4. Switch sides, bringing the right elbow towards the left knee. 5. Continue alternating sides in a 'pedaling' motion for 12-16 reps.
I have been listening to all the Slipknot songs in my computer for the past hour or so, and I am now in the headbanging mood. Slipknot may not make mainstream sounding music, but if you ever have any worries or problems on your mind, wait until you are alone at home and them blast Slipknot. I really works for me.
Damn, now I really want Slipknot to come to Singapore. I am going to go onto their official website and I'm going to get a ton of Singaporean Slipknot fans to flood Slipknot's email mailbox with requests for them to come to Singapore. If that really happens I will be so happy :D
I'm thinking of buying Chris Fehn's mask, which looks like this:
I don't know why, but I like that mask. Probably because of the mouth zipper, and also because of the nose. For those of you who don't know, there is a reason why the nose is that long, and Chris is famous for what he does with the nose. I would really like to do that once I get the mask. What exactly does he do to the nose? Watch this awesome video to find out [watch the part from 2:20-2:23 carefully]:
I also want Sid, Corey, Joey and Jim's masks from All Hope is Gone, but that's not on sale yet. Anyways, these are the masks:
