Hello. The topic of today is:
I've been playing the game a lot ever since I bought it. I wasn't expecting much, since the game got average review scores, but the game actually turned out to be good. I find the story mode decent, but that's probably because I don't know much about Lord of the Rings. If you are a hardcore LotR fan, you'll probably be getting orgasms over the story mode.
The multiplayer is what redeems the game. It can be played online and offline. When playing online, you can take part in matches of up to sixteen players. When playing offline, up to four players can play, and the remaining players will be controlled by the AI.
The game offers Team Deathmatch, Hero Team Deathmatch, which is identical to Team Deathmatch, except everyone is using a Hero, Capture the Ring, which is the game's version of Capture the Flag, and Conquest, a mode where both teams try to gain control of all the capture points on the map.
A few things before we carry on. First, LotR Conquest is not a strategy game. It is an action game that allows you to control one independent unit at a time, and your unit will have different attacks based on the button combination you press. Second, you do not have to be a LotR fan to actually enjoy the game. The game would be fun even if the LotR characters were replaced with Harry Potter characters.
You get to control both normal units and Heroes, and there's quite a variety of them. It is guide time once again. I'm doing a guide of the character in the game, but not a guide on their background information, because you probably know more about the characters than I do. I'm just going to be mentioning the type of character each of them are, how they handle, and the attacks they can use. Beginning now:

Basic Classes

This is the all rounder class. Has high health, and deals high damage. He uses a mystical fire sword, and he has a throwing axe for a range attack. The warrior has a basic light, medium and heavy attack which deal high damage.
When using the flames from the sword to attack he has a dash attack, a spiral attack, and a multi hitting slash attack. You should use the warrior if you are new to the game since it is the most noob friendly class.
Archer
Yeah, so he shoots arrows from his bow thing. The arrows do not have auto lock on, so you have to manually target and fire away at enemies. Head shots to every unit except the warrior means an instant kill. The archer has three special arrows.
The fire arrow blows up on impact and does extra damage. The poison arrow slows an opponent down, and it slowly chips away at his health. The multi arrow allows the archer to fire three arrows at a time. If enemies get too close, the archer can kick them back.
Scout
The scout kicks ass. He can cloak and sneak up to an enemy, then kill them in one hit with a backstab attack. This does not apply to basic classes only. Even Heroes can be killed in one hit by the backstab. Sure, it may be a cheap move, but it is satisfying as hell to suddenly appear behind someone powerful like Gandalf and killing the bitch in one blow.
The scout's health is weak, but he has the ability to roll and dodge the opponent's blows. The scout is the fastest basic class available, and he can also use his special moves to clear groups of enemies if he gets surrounded. The scout can also throw bombs to damage groups of enemies.
Mage
The mage is probably the most powerful class of all. Although the mage has weak health, he can heal himself and others. He can also create a ring of fire that will damage any enemy that walks within it. If the mage gets surrounded, he can quickly clear the are with a shock wave attack.
The mage can also create a defensive shield that blocks out arrows and other spells, but people can enter the shield and damage the mage. The mage can also use a normal melee attack which does decent damage and it has a wide area of effect.

Heroes

Isildur is a warrior type hero. He has high health and good damage. He special attacks are all fire based. He can use a spinning flame attack, a flaming charge attack and a multi hitting attack where he summons eight images to hit the enemy.
Aragon is a warrior type hero that will utterly rape you if you let him corner you. He has high health, and some of the most damaging special moves in the game. He has a shock wave attack, an attack that [crazily] amplifies the damage of blow, and a multi hitting attack where he SPAMS a wave of Aragon clones at you.
Gimli is a warrior type hero who uses a fire axe instead of a sword. He has a spinning flame attack, a painful fire shock wave attack, and a charge attack. While having decent health, Gimli's damage is very high. Getting cornered by this tiny bastard usually means death.
Gandalf is a mage type hero. Basic mages are already powerful, so you can probably guess how terrifying mage Heroes are. Gandalf has uber souped up versions of the basic mage's Firewall, Shock wave and Heal attacks. Unlike the basic mage, Gandalf's normal melee attack chains 6 hits together, and it hurts like ****.
Legolas is an archer type hero. He has weak health, but he can kill enemies over a great range. He has much more powerful versions of the basic archer attacks, and a head shot from Legolas would mean instant death, even to another Hero. Legolas also tends to stun the life out of people with his Orlando Bloom looking face.
Eowyn is a scout type hero. She is the most agile character in the game because she can roll and vault over opponents. She has more powerful versions of the basic scout's attacks, and she can stay cloaked for much longer. She is the only playable female character in the game, and that just tells you how sexist the developers of this game are.
Frodo is a scout type hero. This guy is also a total psychopath. He can remained cloaked for much longer than a basic scout, and he can attack while remaining cloaked. He also has the most sadistic and violent backstab animation. Frodo is the epitome of evil despite acting "Good".
Faramir is a warrior type hero but I'm not familiar with his attacks because I have never used him before.
Elrond is a warrior type hero but I'm not familiar with his attacks because I have never used him before.

Witch King also has the most confusing name I have ever seen. Witch is a term used for females, and King is a term used for males, so what exactly is Witch King supposed to be?
Saruman is basically the evil clone of Gandalf, since both of them have identical health, damage and attacks. In fact, they are so identical that I constantly mistake them from each other. This isn't good because if I'm focusing on the wrong guy, and the real one comes up behind me, then that is just an ass rape about the happen.
Mouth of Sauron is a mage type hero. He has weak health and decent damage, but really powerful special moves. He has a scream attack, a shock wave attack, and a Heal spell. He also has an interesting attack that uses dead Orcs. The more Orc bodies there are around him, the more clones he can create. It is a terrifying move.
Lurtz is an archer type hero. He is basically the evil version of Legolas because their health, damage and attacks are all the same. At least they look different. Legolas is like, Orlando Bloom, and Lurtz looks like a random African American.
Wormtongue is a scout type hero. He has the same moves as the basic scout, and more powerful versions of the basic scout's special attacks. Wormtongue can also stay cloaked longer. He has decent health and a surprisingly damaging melee attack. But seriously, what the hell kind of name is Wormtongue? Not exactly a name women will like. He is probably still a virgin.
Balrog is a giant hero and a total rapist. Nothing stands a chance against the Balrog. He can kill basic units in one hit, and Heroes in three hits. He cannot jump, but that is no big deal since he can glide for short distances. You have to constantly press on the jump button to regain mana for Balrog, because it doesn't regenerate on its own.
Sauron is the most powerful Hero in the entire game. I mean, he is the freakin lord of darkness, so what do you expect? He has crazy health and damage, and his special attacks can clear more than ten basic units at a go. Sauron cannot be backstabbed either. Sauron is too powerful to be used in multiplayer, so he is only available in singleplayer.

Horses
Horses are the steds of the Good side. They have a trample attack that can kill a basic unit in one hit.
Wargs
Wargs are the steds of the Evil side. They look like big cats. They have a bite attack that can kill a basic unit in one hit.
Ents
Ents are like tree people. They fight for the Good side. They can grab basic units and throw them at other units. Ents are considered giant units, and they cannot be carrier away by Fell beasts, which appear on certain maps. Ents cannot jump, but you can regain its health by constantly pressing the jump button.
Trolls
Trolls are similar to Ents, but I'm not sure how they attack because I have never used one before. They fight for the Evil side.
Oliphants
Oliphants are only available for the Evil side on certain maps. They are the biggest unit in the game, and they can kill anything, basic unit or Hero, just by walking over them. However, Oliphants are very slow and they can be easily killed if an enemy unit manages to get onto them. I still find them freakin imba though.

Lord of the Rings Conquest is out now on Xbox 360, Playstation 3, PC and Nintendo DS. Of course, the DS version is not as feature rich as the other versions. New units, maps and game types will soon be available for download. If you like games like Star Wars Battlefront, or Warhawk, you should check this out.
