Hello. The topic for today is:

Ever since I got my first Xbox 360 game back in 2006, my collection has always been growing. At the beginning, I used to buy games on impulse. Just because the box art looked good, and the description on the back was intriguing, I would buy the game.
I slowly started to research before buying games, so that I would only get the good ones. Now, my number of games is almost reaching 50. But does that mean I like every single one of them? Definitely no. Here is a countdown to the 5 games that I totally regret buying.
---------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------
5) Army of Two
---------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------

Average Review Score: 7.3/10
Why I bought it: The trailers were cool, and it was #1 on EGM magazine's "Top 50 New Games We're Looking Forward To" article. Also, the game promised a whole lot of co-op moves, but no one mentioned anything about half of them being cut out of the final game.
Pros: Decent when played on co-op; the back to back move is cool; the main characters are badass; several unique features like sniping enemies from a parachute; taunt moves, like the air guitar or the one where you headbutt your team mate, are fun to do; weapon customisation is cool; online multiplayer is pretty good.
Cons: Story is dumb; game is very short; cover system and controls suck; the weapons purchasing system isn't good; difficulty of enemies can be unforgiving at certain points; partner AI is stupid; little co-op moves; no vehicles other than a hydrofoil; super repetitive game play; some enemies, like the armoured guys, are a little overpowered.
What I think of it now: It was fun at first, but after doing the same thing over and over again throughout the entire game, it got boring. When completing the game, I wasn't really feeling a sense of accomplishment. Instead, I was feeling more like, "Oh, thank god it's over. Goodbye and good riddance."
Before the game was released, there was a reviewer which dubbed the game "
Army of Shit", because he found it a total mess. I feel that it isn't that bad. If playing alone, it is pretty crappy, but it does get alright when played with a friend. Still, the short story line and unsatisfying game play makes this game a rental at most.
---------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------
4) Command and Conquer 3: Tiberium Wars
---------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------

Average Review Score: 8.5/10
Why I bought it: Everyone was talking about it at that point of time, so I got into the craze as well. I ended up buying both the PC and the Xbox 360 version, and while I'm not too fond of both, I regret buying the Xbox 360 version more.
Pros: Good story; awesome live action cutscenes; massive amounts of units; fast pace game play; good graphics; good AI; very fun to watch a nuke or orbital laser tear through an enemy base.
Cons: Too complex and fast pace for people new to strategy games; I don't even like strategy games in the first place.
What I think of it now: It is a fun game, and there is nothing wrong with it that makes me regret buying it. I don't enjoy strategy games, so it feels like a waste that I bought it. I never even bothered playing past the third mission.
Also, while Tiberium Wars is a great strategy game, I find a slower paced one like Halo Wars is more suitable for a console since controllers don't have the speed and precision of a mouse and keyboard. While this control issue may seem like a small thing, it actually really kills the fun of playing the game.
---------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------
3) Def Jam Icon
---------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------

Average Review Score: 7.2/10
Why I bought it: My brother and I were fans of the previous Def Jam game, Def Jam: Fight for New York, so we expected Icon to be great as well. Def Jam Icon turned out to be alright, but no where near as fun as the previous game.
Pros: Environment moves to the beat of the music; good graphics; decent story; great soundtrack; large character roster; multiple different fighting styles to choose from; wounds and bruises can be seen appearing on characters as they take damage; fully customisable character and crib.
Cons: Fighting is too slow pace; controls for the "DJ" feature take a while to get used to; health bar is turned off my default, making it very confusing; voice acting is not too good; some characters clearly overpowered.
What I think of it now: It's a decent fighting game that might be worth a rent. If you're into the whole "gangsta" thing, you'll love this game, but if not, there are much better fighting games around. Still, it is worth a try to see for yourself how the environment moves to the music.
---------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------
2) Superman Returns
---------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------

Average Review Score: 5.1/10
Why I bought it: I must have been possessed at that time.
Pros: Flying; running at super speed; eye lasers; artic breath; super breath; being Superman is awesome; large city; able to play as other characters like Bizarro.
Cons: Story sucks; buildings in city are repeated many times; bad graphics; Superman gets damaged as the city gets damaged, meaning that you can kill yourself if you keep firing lasers at people; no instructions, so you often don't know what to do; few bosses; last boss is a tornado, how dumb is that; voice acting sucks; enemies can be really irritating.
What I think of it now: The only redeeming factor of this one is that you get to be Superman, and at least that is a bit fun. It is cool to fly at super speed, and after a while there will be a sonic boom and you will fly even faster. Also, the game's Achievements are super easy to unlock, so if you are an Achievement whore, rent it, if not, avoid it.
---------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------
1) Alone In The Dark
---------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------

Average Review Score: 5.8/10
Why I bought it: There was a series of game play videos released a month before the launch of this game. The footage shown looked awesome. Looked. When you actually play the game, it's a whole different story. Also, the footage they showed us consisted of the best bits of the game.
Pros: Story is somewhat interesting; you can skip levels you don't want to play; realistic game play; good cutscenes and voice acting; the game begins well.
Cons: Horrible controls; worst camera in gaming history; missions are ridiculous; most characters are assholes; graphical glitches; extreme lag/freezing; stupid ending; game tries to be too realistic; so dark that it is hard to see things; tons of bugs; idiotic AI.
What I think of it now: I only have three comments about it. One, it is probably the number one bastard game of this generation. Two, it is the embodiment of suck. And three, it is the epitome of bullshit.
So please don't ever buy it and subject yourself to intense physical and mental torture. In fact, don't even look at it on the store shelves. Trust me on this one, it is horrible beyond belief. I cannot believe I actually spent $72 on the abomination, because now I wouldn't want it even if it was free.

The new Naruto and Bleach chapters are up. I'm embedding some pages. Click to enlarge.
This week's Naruto was awesome!! Hinata tries to rescue Naruto, but Naruto asks her to escape since Pain is too powerful. Hinata doesn't want to and she admits to Naruto that she loves him. Then she tries to attack Pain, but she gets taken down instead.
Naruto gets pissed and he goes into demon fox mode. But unlike previous times, when he only has up to four tails, he has six tails now. He looks something like four tails, but with six tails of course, and a badass looking bone armour. Epic stuff, can't wait for the next chapter. Some pages:
Hinata comes to the rescue.
She wants to protect Naruto.
Some romantic talk.
Some more romantic talk.
OMG :0
Pain takes down Hinata, and Naruto gets pissed.
Fox Naruto is pwn.
Wow so sexy <3>This week's Bleach was pretty good too. Ulquiorra attacks Ichigo again and again, and although Ichigo is badly hurt, he refuses to let go of his sword and give up. So Ulquiorra goes into the fully unleashed form, which resembles a cross between an emo woman and Criss Angel. Some pages:
Ichigo's mask is shattered from the impact of Ulquiorra's cero.
The cero took out half of the dome.
Ichigo is in quite a bad state.
But Ulquiorra still attacks.
However, Ichigo refuses to give up.
Whoa, first time Ulquiorra is being that expressive.
Look at the impact of Ulquiorra's attack.
Ichigo completely interrupts Ulquiorra's little speech.
He still doesn't want to give up.
Ulquiorra gets impatiant and reveals his true form.
It is freakin horrifying.

I played Halo 3 on Xbox Live with my brother for the first time in quite a while. After not playing the game for that long, it is quite refreshing to play it again. It is actually fun now. I also noticed that some people are playing Halo Wars online, so I'll probably be getting my copy soon. I actually forgot that the game launched yesterday.
I went to meet Kim for a while after that. Now that I think of it, I've been meeting her everyday this week. But it's alright and I don't mind. I will try to meet her everyday until school starts!! I am even starting to understand some JC stuff after reading her notes. Anyways, KOAS Kimberlyn Wong!! :D
Ok, I'm done for today. Thanks for reading. Ending off, see you tomorrow.
