Hello. The topic for today is:

As we all know, Street Fighter IV was launched in Asia a few weeks ago, and in Western countries last week. As well all know, Street Fight IV is an awesome game, with an average review score of 95%. But did we all know that Street Fighter IV is facing a shortage in most countries?
Yes, you read the last line correctly. Street Fighter IV has been facing shortages ever since it launched in Japan. It sold 860 000+ copies on the first day in Japan alone, and all the Mad Catz arcade sticks were sold out too.
This was a week before the USA launch of the game, and everything was already sold out. Capcom quickly printed an additional 2 million copies of the game just for Western countries, and Mad Catz produced another 1 million units of the arcade stick. A week after launch in Western countries, and the game is sold out again.
It might not exactly make you play like a pro, but the Mad Catz arcade stick looks sexy. Here in Singapore, the situation isn't too bad. While many specialist games stores have few copies of the game left, shops which sell a variety of electronics goods, like Challenger or Best, still have plenty of the game in stock.
Still, I am quite surprised by the reception of the game here in Singapore. It reportedly sold faster in Singapore than games like Gears of War 2 and Halo 3. This is praise worthy since majority of Singaporeans are clueless about gaming, and Street Fighter IV also has a hefty $90 price tag.
Still, despite the lack of gaming knowledge, many Singaporeans actually knew the local launch date of Street Fighter IV, and they still bought it despite the price. In fact, with two days from launch, the game became the number one fastest selling electronic product here in Singapore.
Alright, I'm sorry because I know this isn't a particularly interesting topic to write about, but it amazes me to the point that I think it is only right if I mention it. As most of you would probably know, I'm now waiting for the chance to buy the game.
It's not that I don't have enough cash or anything, I'm just going to wait until Halo Wars is available. Why? Well, if you have noticed, ever since the end of the O levels, the only games I bought individually were Left 4 Dead and Oblivion.
This is completely unrelated to the topic, but why is The Lost and the Damned being sold in stores for $31.90 while it costs $33 on Xbox Live? It is cheaper at stores because you have to put in some effort to walk to the store?I have been buying every other game in pair, or doing "Double Kills" as I like to say. Since I'm three games away from having fifty games in my collection, I have decided to "Triple Kill" this time.
On the day that Halo Wars is ready for collection, I'll buy Street Fighter IV and Ninja Blade as well. Win :D For those of you who don't know me too well, you might be shocked after reading about my spending habits for video games, but you shouldn't be.
Last year I spent nearly $2000 on video games alone, and if I calculated correctly, this year I'll have almost twice that amount to spend of video games. I think it is possible for me to have over a hundred games by the end of this console generation. Did I shock you some more? Ok, sorry, enough about that.
The bottom line is, Street Fighter IV is awesome and everyone is buying it. While the $90 price tag may discourage some from buying it, I still want to get it. However, not every shop is going to have it in stock, so if you want to get it, I think Challenger would be a good place to look.
Challenger not only had Street Fighter IV, it also has Onechanbara!! Onechanbara is M18 though.
=============================================================================
I watched the Oscars live in the morning. Slumdog Millionaire FTW!! It won so many awards. But it was awesome, so it deserved them. Also, Hugh Jackman is a great host he is really funny and entertaining. He can seriously host events for extra cash when he isn't being Wolverine and stabbing the shit out of people.
I tried playing my crappy replacement Xbox, and what happened? RROD!! Again! They freakin guaranteed me that it wouldn't happen again. Well, guess what? It did, and it hasn't even been a week. I called customer support and I'm going to get another one tomorrow. It better be the last replacement console I get, or some one is going to get hurt.
Oh great.I went to Tiong Bahru Plaza for lunch, then I did some
secret stuff for a few hours. Once I got home, I played DotA with Say Yin and
Andrew for a while, then I went out for dinner with a friend. Once I got back, I found the Temasek poly enrollment package in my letterbox. Yay, finally.
I've been waiting to get this.
Check out the map of the campus. Click to enlarge. It has a whole lot of words, so I think I'm going to read it slowly. I have just flipped through the papers and the booklet so far, and I am seeing things like "Apply for EZ-Link card" and "Medical Check-Up". Also, it seems that there are two Freshmen Orientation Camps [FOCs].
One is organised by the Temasek Polytechnic Student Union [TPSU] and it only has 600 vacancies. It is a three day two night camp that takes place on 6th, 7th and 8th April. Staying overnight with girls? I'm definitely signing up for this one.
The other is a compulsory camp organised by the staff. This one is held on different dates according to the faculty you are in. Mine is a two day non-residential camp that takes place on the 16th and 17th April, which is like one day after my birthday.
The official start of the first school semester is the 20th of April. I am seriously hoping that there is some super chio girl in my course. I don't even need to wonder if I am going to be able to get into a relationship during my first year in TP because people just cannot resist me :P
But I will choose wisely. If I get into a relationship, I'm going to make it last for the three years I will be in TP. I don't want to break the heart of another girl, and I also don't want to depress myself again. I've learnt my lesson. No more relationships on impulse. See, I am becoming more mature :D
I'm going to read the papers properly. A lot of online applications and stuff. I don't want to screw those up and get denied by TP, then I will have no where to go and I will be enrolled into National Service and that will suck.
I just went to check out the TPSU blog, you should take a look too. It is a nice blog. Click
HERE to be magically teleported there.
Ok, I'm done for today. Thanks for reading. Ending off, see you tomorrow.
