Hello. The topic for today is:

So I've been talking about Watchmen for the past few days, and now I'm about to mention my final thoughts about the movie.
First of all, if you are a Watchmen fan, then you probably have already watched it. If you haven't then what are you waiting for? Go and watch it, you'll love it.
If you have never read the comics before, I suggest you do that first before watching the movie. If you watch the movie without reading, you will not understand most things.
Sure, you might think you understand, but the movie is cleverly directed because it will trick those who have never read the comic into thinking that way.

You will find it too long, and too boring since there isn't much action. Watchmen doesn't use action to keep you interested. It's the intricate web that the story weaves as it progresses that will intrigue you.
I felt that the movie was over too quickly, but many other people are saying that they couldn't wait for it to be over.
So all I'm trying to say is, watch at your own risk if you've never read the comic. With all that said, now you can hear what this Watchmen fan thinks about the movie.
The movie was awesome. From the second it started to the second it ended, I was amazed. The movie is shot well, with great camera angles in almost every scene. The acting is more or less great.

The story is told in such a way that it gradually unfolds into a complicated series of events, and these events remain unsolved until the last moments of the movie, then everything is explained. To see everything just lock together and fall in place is quite a satisfying experience.
I already mentioned that the ending has changed, and I find it to be for the better. In the comic, New York is destroyed by some squid monster from another dimension. In the movie, Ozymandias makes it seem as if Dr. Manhattan destroyed New York, and that makes much more sense.
While some might say the the fight scenes were unnecessarily extended, I think they are perfect. The fight choreography is astounding, and the filming during a fight scene is great as well. Watching the explosive violence unfold in slow motion is quite an experience.
The movie has a larger impact than the comic when it comes to portraying emotions. Certain scenes, like the sex scene between Nite Owl and Silk Spectre, take place over a few panels in the comic, and it is no big deal.

However, seeing it in motion in the movie is different. You can see and feel the emotion between both characters. The scene is something you will remember for a long time.
The fact that emotions are portrayed easier in the film also allows us to connect with the characters easily. In the comic, some characters seem like jerks, although they do have their own personal reasons for being that way. Most people don't really care about those reasons.
However, in the movie, you get to see the plight these characters are in, and it allows you to sympathize with them, regardless of how big an asshole they really are.
The sound track is also great, with a mix of 80's, metal and generally epic sounding music. The music helps further amplify the impact a certain scene has on you. For example, the scene where Silk Spectre and Nite Owl bust Rorschach out of prison. You are already thrilled by the fight, then the metal music starts playing.

The bottom line is, watch the movie if you are a Watchmen fan, and it'll be one of the best movies you have ever watched. Watch it if you aren't a fan, and it's still a pretty decent film, albeit a long one.
So there you have it, my final verdict of the Watchmen movie. I personally find it the best movie I have ever watched in my life, but that's because Watchmen is the best comic series I have ever read in my life.
And that concludes my Watchmen week. This is probably the last time I'll be doing a topic based off Watchmen. Time to move on to other things.

The new Naruto and Bleach chapters are out. I'm embedding several pages. Click to enlarge.
This week's Naruto chapter is awesome. Pain uses a powerful attack in an attempt to stop Naruto in six tails form. Naruto's mind is in a mess, and the fox uses the confusion to try and unleash itself. Naruto listens to it and he goes into eigth tails. Just as he is about to fully unleash the fox, the Fourth Hokage appears and stops him. Some pages:
Pain uses his technique, and the the land starts breaking apart.
All the rocks form into a giant floating boulder.
Inside his head, Naruto is confused, and the fox talks him into letting it take over.
The eight tails emerges from the rocks.
Naruto is just about to release the fox when the Fourth appears.
Father-son reunion. This week's Bleach chapter is not too bad either. I really like this darker, grittier storyline that is taking place right now. It's so much more entertaining. Ichigo gets killed by Ulquiorra, and Ishida seems to have been killed as well. Orihime doesn't know what to do, so she asks Ichigo to help her. Ichigo then transforms into his full hollow form. Some pages:
Ichigo looks dead to me.
Ulquiorra tells Orihime that Ichigo cannot be saved.
Ishida attacks Ulquiorra.
New attack? I can't remember him using this before.
Orihime approaches Ichigo...
...and the fact that he is dead finally dawns upon her.
Ishida's hand gets destroyed, but he still fights. Stupid.
Looks to me like Ishida is dead too.
Orihime's scream can wake the dead. That's Ichigo in full hollow form. Awesome long hair.================================================================================

Today I went to the IT fair with
Andrew. He wanted to check if they had discounts for his ipod classic, and since I didn't have much to do anyways, I tagged along. I knew that it would be crowded and I hated crowds, but I still went because I wanted to check if there were any offers for video games.
Even the trains were crowded. I met
Andrew at City Link, then we went to the fair. The place wasn't as crowded as I expected, but it was still kinda hard to breathe. We walked around every floor.
The deals weren't that great, but there were still some reasonable ones. For example, GTA IV: The Lost and Damned, which usually sells for $33, is going for $25 there. Still, I think I would rather wait for it to get its inevitable 50% price cut on Xbox Live.
There was also a "3 games for $79" offer. Sounds reasonable right? It would have been, if the three games were good ones. Instead, they decided in include only crap games in the offer. Seriously, I wouldn't want those games even if you gave them to me for free.
Andrew was kinda disappointed because his ipod classic was the same price there. The only difference is that they decided to throw in a $100 worth of freebies. Still, $398 is a little steep. Don't worry, I'll get you one when I make my first million dollars. It's only going to take a few more years :D
After that we went to meet his wife Vanessa. We ate at Burger King. I finally got my Whopper!! After that we went to the arcade and I watched them play a game that requires you to throw plastic balls at the screen.
After that we considered watching Watchmen, but decided not to because the only available movie was at 6pm, and Vanessa had to leave by that time. So we walked back to City Hall station.
Along the way back, I got for
Andrew his Skullcandy headphones from HMV at City Link. It's supposed to be his birthday present, but he asked us to wait until the IT fair to see if there would be any discounts.

Anyways, it's a gift from me and Say Yin. I just bought it first since Say Yin was working. Andrew is happy with the gift since he has been having a continuous orgasm since he got it until now, and he also openly admitted that he is gay on msn. Get it? Gay. Happy. Never mind.
The big event that was supposed to happen at night got canceled because Kim is still having a fever. It's alright, it can happen during the holiday next week. For now, get well soon!!
Ok, I'm done for today. Thanks for reading. [KOAS KW!!] Ending off, see you tomorrow.
