Hello. The topic for today is:

I'm happy right now. I finally got my new phone today, so I can now reply to SMSes once more.
My previous phone was a Sony Ericsson W810i. Right now, I'm carrying the Sony Ericsson W902. A lot of people are saying that the W902 is the next generation of W810 phones, and while I'm not too sure about that yet, I do know one thing.
The W902 is sexy as hell.
Looking at the phone from behind a display case, and actually getting to hold it and explore its functions is two different things. When I first saw the phone in the display case in the M1 store, I was thinking that it looked alright. But once I held the phone in my hand, I fell in love with it.
First of all, the phone's candy bar style body is amazingly comfortable to hold on to. It's weight is perfectly balanced, with the neither the top or the bottom of the phone feeling heavier than the other end.

The dimensions of the phone are also spot on, since the phone never feels too small or too cumbersome. It fits perfectly into my hands. The phone has plastic buttons, which I feel are just the right size and they easily trump the small, metal buttons found on many other models.
The back of the phone is uniquely textured, further giving the phone a premium feel. There is no one stand out feature or headlining gimmick, and everything seems to fit perfectly into place.
So now we all know that the phone feels great to hold onto, but what about the most important feature of a Walkman phone? The music. Is it up to scratch?
The most puzzling thing is probably the fact that the W902 only comes with 25MB built in phone memory. Compared to other phones, which support up to 8GB built in memory, 25MB is pathetic.
But fret not, as the W902 supports up to 8GB expandable memory. Like most phones nowadays, the W902 uses a memory stick micro (M2). The W902 will come bundled with an 8GB memory stick micro (M2), so memory space isn't really that much of an issue.
At the top of the phone, there is a silver button that might first seem like a power button, but it is actually the Walkman shortcut button. Upon pressing it, you get the usual collection of media options that allow you to browse by artist, album, playlist or genre. Turning the phone on its side cause the display to change to landscape.
These aren't really new functions to the recent range of Walkman phones, but when used in conjunction with the media buttons on the side of the phone, the W902 feels easy to browse and play your music.
There are three buttons, a play/pause button, forward button and backward button. These sit in between the volume and camera buttons. They are not noticeable, since they are made of transparent plastic, but your fingers can find them easily just by touch.

The W902 can hold up to 8000 songs, and these songs can be shuffled by pressing onto the Walkman button, and shaking the phone. The volume can also be controlled by pressing the Walkman button and tilt the phone up and down.
TrackID is included, which is a technology that allows you to record a few seconds of a song you heard at any place, and then it tells you the name of the song, and it gives you the option to download it. An FM transmitter is included, meaning you can play the music on your phone through any FM radio, even a car stereo system.
When it comes to sound quality, the W902 sets itself apart from most other music devices. When paired with the premium in-ear headphones that comes with it, its sound quality rivals and in many cases beats that of most dedicated music players.
You have honestly never heard music until you've heard it through these headphones.
Rich levels of bass and crystal clear sound will make you realise how much of a song you are actually missing when listening through ordinary headphones. The sound quality is among the best I've heard on a pair of headphones.
As an added bonus, the headphones look cool, and they are much more comfortable than the previous Walkman headphone design. The headphones have also won several best headphone awards, beating many other dedicated headphone brands.
Speaking of awards, the W980, Sony Ericsson's previous flagship Walkman phone, succeeded in edging out the iPhone for the best music phone during the 2008/9 EISA Awards, and I won't be surprised if the W902 does the same this year.
The other standout feature of the W902 is undoubtedly the camera. For previous Walkman phones, it often felt that the camera was an afterthought, and we were often left between the choice of getting a good camera phone from the K/C series, or a good music phone from the W series.
This isn't the case with the W902. It is the first Walkman phone that boasts a 5 Megapixel camera. It also has a powerful LED flash function, auto focus and high quality video and sound recording. The camera captures incredibly detailed photos, and it is definitely the best camera on a music phone so far.

It also has an extremely quick Bluetooth, capable of transferring up to half a megabyte of data within a second, HSDPA for high speed Internet browsing and downloads, and a front camera for video calls.
Still considering an iPhone over the W902 after reading all that?
So in closing, the W902 is the first true combination of camera and music in Sony Ericsson's portfolio. The music portion is without a doubt the best I've seen on a phone, but the real draw is the fact that you do not have to sacrifice the camera for it.
Ever since the launch of the W810 all those years ago, Sony Ericsson has been producing mediocre phones for the Walkman range, but they have finally produced another near perfect phone with the W902.
If you ever wondered how sex would look like if it was shaped as a phone, this is it.
================================================================================
I went to IMM with my parents in the morning. My father was getting three new phones, one for me, one for my mom, and one for my brother. He got the W902 for me, and two W890i phones for my mother and brother.
After that we went to Cafe Cartel to have lunch, then we went to Monfort Secondary to fetch my brother. After that we went back home and I had to continue doing my sister's project for her. My head started to hurt, so I went out for dinner and the hope of distressing.
I felt much better when I got home, so I started doing this wooden gun model kit. I completed it within an hour. I got a little pissed with it, since the pieces kept falling off, so I decided to stick everything together with glue. Of course the movable parts can still move, I'm not that stupid.
I took this photo near Kim's house, just to test out the camera on my phone. Click to enlarge:

Then I went to use my computer to check out more GDC stuff, and I'm going to play DotA later. Right now, I am talking to my amazing friend Kim on msn, and I'm eating the delicious cake she gave me. I am a happy person right now :D
Ok, I'm done for today. Thanks for reading. [KOAS KW!!] Ending off, see you tomorrow.
