Ok so this post was supposed to be up by Tuesday. Which Tuesday? I don't know actually. Anyways, just read on :D
Oh wells it's Tuesday, and as we all know, there really isn't anything much which happens on Tuesday. I mean, there's always something happening on every other day of the week, but Tuesday is just like 'Ugh. Tuesday.'
Not making sense? Good. Moving on.
I finished reading World War Hulk today. The pacing of the story is kinda weird. It starts alright, gets slower and slower as it progresses, and as soon as the story starts to get interesting again, it ends way too abruptly.
So the Hulk overthrows the King of the alien planet which he is stranded on, and he becomes the new ruler. Under his rule, the various warring factions are able to call upon a truce, and slowly but surely, they begin to unite once more.
The Hulk even gets married to the king's former protector, and she gets pregnant with their child. Everything seems to be going well until one day, the space capsule which the Hulk entered the planet in explodes, killing almost everyone except the Hulk and 5 of his friends.
Upon discovering that there had been a nuke in the capsule, the Hulk recalls his hatred for the human race. He was finally at peace, residing in a world which respected him, and he had a family, but all those were now gone.
Needless to say, he was pissed.
So together with his 5 warbound, he launches a brutal onslaught upon Earth. The Hulk, now angrier than ever before, was also stronger than ever before. And close to no one on Earth could stop him.
Heroes who once had a chance of defeating the Hulk, like the Thing, Hercules and the Juggernaut, now didn't even manage to bring him to his knees. Without much difficulty, the Hulk captures Black Blot, Iron Man, Mr. Fantastic and Doctor Strange.
He dumps the four of them into a makeshift arena, and with the help of obedience disks, which were embedded into their skin, the Hulk forces them to fight each other to the death. Just when everything was looking grim, help arrived.
The only one on the Earth who could fight and defeat this raging incarnation of the Hulk. The most powerful super being on Earth. The Golden Guardian of Good. The hero whom contained the power of a million exploding suns within him.
The Sentry appeared and with a single punch, he sent the Hulk flying. At first, this gave hope to humanity, but it quickly died off when everyone realised that the Sentry wasn't himself.
In order to fight the Hulk, the Sentry had to tap into a large portion of his power, and this had awoken the other half of him, the evil entity known as the Void. Soon, a vortex of burning energy was surrounding the Void, and nothing could stop him.
Nothing but the Hulk.
Even with the intensity of the energy tearing his flesh and skin from his bones, the Hulk continued to fight the Void. After several minutes of fierce combat, and with most of New York City destroyed, the fight ends with the Hulk and the Void punching each other in the face.
The impact of their blows cause the surrounding area to shatter, and several nearby buildings collapse. However, the vortex of energy soon dissipates, and both the Hulk and the Void revert back to their weak human forms.
While Bruce Banner remains standing, Ryan Renolds falls to the ground, unconscious. Hulk's warbound had rushed over to aid him, but they found Banner instead. Seeing Hulk in his human form for the first time, one of the warbound attempts to turn him back into the Hulk.
To anger banner, the warbound tells him that he had known of the bomb's existence in the space capsule, and it wasn't the humans who had put it in, but member's of the old king's guard.
Instead of destroying the bomb, the warbound choose to leave it as he thought that it would remind Hulk about how humans had treated him, and it would cause him to go to war with them.
Realising that he was being used by others for destruction no matter where he was, and feeling betrayed by his warbound, Banner is consumed by rage and transforms into the Hulk once again.
However, his anger cannot be contained this time, and it radiates out of his body in the form of Gamma Rays, threatening to shatter the surface of the Earth. The Hulk asks Iron Man to stop him before he destroys the planet, and Iron Man quickly fires a satellite laser onto the Hulk, seemingly reducing him to vapour.
Several weeks pass and rebuilding has begun in New York City. The heroes have recovered and are helping with the repairs. Life seems to be getting back to normal on Earth, but there is a sudden disturbance on the planet which the Hulk had once been exiled to.
Out of the ashes, a new form emerges. Resembling the Hulk, but a little leaner, and with longer hair, this new character is revealed to be the son of the Hulk, Skaar.
Ok yes so that is about all I have to tell you for today. It's Tuesday damn it.

Time flies.
It seemed like just yesterday when I was stepping out of the Maris Stella High School hall, celebrating the end of the O Levels.
And now here I am, with new friends, new experiences, new knowledge and a new life, just a little over a year after that day.
The first semester in Temasek Polytechnic is now history, and we welcomed in the second one several weeks ago.
The last semester was great. I wasn't saying that because I was worried about accidentally offending some TP staff who just happened to come across my blog. Semester 1.1 was really quite an experience.
It took a while for me to shed my secondary school attitude, and when I finally did, life started getting more interesting. I've been to new places. Learned new things. I've been experiencing something new everyday.
My studies are now better than ever, since I am actually studying about things which I am genuinely interested about. I managed to secure a spot amongst the top 10% of my course, though I barely made it. Got to work harder this semester.
So. Now we're mid way through Semester 1.2. Things were rough for me at the start, especially with my falling out with someone dear to me, but things are starting to get back on track.
I'm closer to my class now than I ever was before. I look forward to going to school the next day. I've been managing my finances well. I've been making new friends. I'm starting to enjoy this semester's subjects. And I've got a new crush :D
Since this semester is more relaxed and all, I've gotten the chance to hang out more with my friends after school. It's fun and it helps us relax, but unfortunately it also means that we have to spend more money.
Last Friday was awesome. It was Campus Care Network Day, or CCN Day for short. Basically, all lessons after 12pm were cancelled, and there was this massive fun fair held in TP to raise money for charity.
Each class was expected to come up with a booth. We had several ideas, but we eventually settled on one which involved water, plastic bags, and all the guys in the class. If you guessed something along the line of 'water bomb', you're right :D
We were selling three water bombs for $2, and six for $5. Participants had to use the water bombs to hit targets. Of course, the targets ended up being the guys in the class.
On the actual day, I hurried down to Business School after having my CDS tutorial, and we spent about 1 hour preparing. Then we realised that it was going to rain, which was bad, because our stall was located at the non-sheltered ground level.
Then someone came up with the idea of allowing participants to throw the bombs at us from the plaza level, which was one floor above. The good thing was that this way, people wouldn't have to climb down stairs to play our game. The bad thing was that it was way more painful for us.
At first, business didn't seem good. People seemed interested, but they just spared us a glance at most before walking away. It was only when our first participant purchased her water bombs that things got better.
The moment she approached the throwing area, the area surrounding her rapidly filled with people, all curious to see what it was all about. Soon, more an more customers came, and it felt as though we were on a stage.
We were all having a whole lot of fun, while raising money for charity at the same time. Also, there was an added perk of being down there while numerous ladies crowded around the railings.
Let's just put it this way: "After the downpour, a rainbow emerges." Go figure.
Soon it started raining, but we carried on. After several hours, it was getting too cold to keep the stall going, so we decided to go for a grand finale.
All eight of us lay down on the floor, our crotches unprotected. Like I said, all in the name of charity. By this time, the bombs were being sold in large amounts, with groups of people buying up to 20 bombs at a go.
At the end of the day, we made about $200 profit, and it all went to charity. I have to admit, I never expected our stall to be such a success, neither for it to be so much fun.
I guess we just have to thank ourselves for being crazy enough to go for it, the group of 'quieter' girls who were noisy enough to attract such a loud crowd, everyone who participated, and Gerald's coconut bra :D
Some photos of the event, taken by Christel:
So yes, school has been awesome so far.
I just decided to post because you know, I've been talking about this 'post everyday' thing for way too long, but nothing is happening. Ah well, we're all guilty of procrastination.
Anyways, I have to head for my CDS tutorial now (which I really don't feel like going), so be sure to check back tomorrow.
